If that's how it ends, I'll feel cheated.
I feel the same
the visual tells you everything. A battle is not necessary because Torunaga has already won
Toranaga explains to Yabushige at the end that he’s already won. That was the conclusion of the show and it makes sense.
But they could possibly make a season 2 to show how visually everything ends. They’ve also established excellent characters with motives, and relationships between the characters. Would be pretty cool to continue their stories. Blackthorne still has to wage his war with the Catholics. And I’d like to see if Toranaga aids him in his war to end the monopoly of trade the Portuguese has with Japan.
The show has stole my heart. I have been found wanting more. What a masterpiece of a show and every one in it deserves praise. Amazing. Truly.
What a fucking masterpiece, it keeps you captivated and suddenly it ends so gently holly molly
A show like this only comes once in a lifetime, the audacity to cut off right before the war breaks out in the show left me feeling fcked over
That last episode made me feel a dread/loneliness that I’ve never felt before watching a film or show. Very well done. Hope they have a season 2
WE DEMAND SEASON 2!!!
No source material, this is literally how the book ends. And you can't change history either
@@Heavenly_Fatherif anyone is worthy of continuing the story, it has to be the team that made this iteration of the film adaptation.
The story set up great characters and has plenty of material to extrapolate on for a season 2. But I agree, the story is meant to have an ambiguous ending.
@@Basilisk2077Just let good shows have a good end! Let it be!
I know they’ve said there won’t be a season 2. But there’s always a chance for another season when the money rolls in from a successful season 1.
Everyone has a price. 😄
nah the narrative has tied up
It's was one of the most booring season of all time but the vfx was amazing they could have make g O t or batter then this
@@malikusmannisssooana2620 shit take, fam
@@malikusmannisssooana2620 it has great ratings, you are in the minority. I also question why you are here on this video if you thought it was one of the most boring seasons of all time…
The show is amazing. No doubt they'll find a way to get a season 2.
Please, make a season 2!!
Best serie i watched for long!!
what about the civil war? what about his ships? what about a fleet? what about all the staff toranaga said will happen? what about the war? what about johns return to England? what happens to john after the war? what happens to Toranaga? what happens to the heir? what happens to the council? so many questions just of the top of my head their is soooo much potentially here for at least 2 seasons and many more and I wish to see more.
That's how the book ends. Toranaga tells Yubishige everything that's going to happen. He will become Shōgun. It even shows a visionary flash forward to a battlefield when Ishido discovers he doesn't have the heir's backup troops. You don't need to see another season unfortunately. The ending is bitter, somber, and meant to be that way. Mariko sacrificed herself to usher in an opportunity that footsoldiers never could. There are no further beautiful stories to tell. Season 2 would simply be Toranaga winning. Season 1 was a web of politics, learning about Japanese culture through Blackthorne, and Tamagawa's puppeteering schemes.
All your questions answer themselves. There is no civil war. Maybe a battle or two, but Ishido can't win alone. Blackthorne builds ships for Toranaga. Toranaga becomes Shōgun, likely only until the heir comes of age. The regents are splintered and over- hence the Shōgun takes their place. John eventually returns home.
There is tragic beauty in finality.
Book is based on Tokugawa Ieyesu if you want to know the ending. He wins the war, multiple clans are swayed to either hold in place or attack Ishido (Ishida IRL). Tokugawa wins the battle and his dream of Japan unification is realized. Multiple generations of peace. He is considered the most important Shogun that ever lived. Only difference is Tokugawa had 10x the amount of Koku, Rice and land than Ishida and that was what swayed the clans.
Good for you but we want to see it in the second season wich seems not to be a chance of excisting
I need a season 2
Season 2
There is no season 2, the series ended where the book ended.😂
So it looks like Shogun is getting a season 2, with Hiroyuki Sanada signing on for a season 2.
Well here is the season 2' s spoiling. Toranaga end up fighting a full gun equipped army along side with Anjin-San. He finally meet his end while charging toward the enemy. Beautiful ending tho. Anjin-San survived the war, travel back to the old village and united with Fuji-San😍
I immediately knew 🤣🤣
I can’t stand when Networks do this. Apple TV did this with Shantaram recently too and I really would’ve liked to see continuation of both of these shows
If anyone wants to know what happens next, they are lots of books that describe that. A good excuse for some Japanese history investigation I should say. Not need for a 2nd season, because it will be made for the wrong reasons. Sometimes less is better.
Season 2....now plz
I loved the series and just watched the last episode. SPOILER ALERT: I was fully expecting and wanting a bloodbath but instead it was a total anticlimax, though the visualization of Torunaga's explanation was clever. ARRGHH! 😆
Those who want war have never experienced one.
I know it's a full circle story since it's 1 book
But, The Asian Saga has multiple books
What I wanna know is if they're going to adapt them all, as anthology series. Or just stick with Shōgun.
Someone go ask thàt question. Rather than the benial "is there gonna be a season 2?" When it's just based on a single book... come on, people.. 🤦♂️😮💨
IIf the book is already finished, I'm afraid the TV show's writers might try to add their own storyline. I'm afraid there might be a case like Game of Thrones, where the final season tarnishes the previous seasons.
This master piece need a SECOND SEASON
What season 2? There is NO SEASON 2. ROTFL!
😂
are you kidding? how can this end like this.
@@triforce1311 The visual tells you everything. Whether they meet on the field or not there wont be a battle because Torunaga has already won.
its a nice end of a series imo, its ambiguous. people would be hungry for the "should" next scene.
but it would be cool if theres NO SEASON 2 BUT! they'll make the next scene or the War scene as a movie (even though its series are already a movie length) that will keep a good money grab tactics from them imo
No way
Will be a season 2?
You have to write and send a director (Shogun).
There is no season 2. The book 'Shogun' is the source material and it concludes with the ending we had. So for them to do a season 2 would mean they are making up the following story after the book. So don't listen to the BS, there is NO season 2 of Shogun.
no more season 2 just deal with it, read the book and Ya'll still get the same ending, but if James Clavell come back to life and write a sequel then that's the time we can get season 2 😅
That has to be the worst ending to one of the greatest shows I've seen
Just checking that you watched Game of Thrones?
@RSAnimism yes and also the sopranos 😂
@@1AOR1 I thought the Shogun ending was great. I still want them to make more seasons though.
it literally wraps up all the plot points. The anjin and his ship were just a distraction. Torunaga wins because he played them all
Those who know Japanese history will not be dissatisfied with the fact that the Battle of Sekigahara is not depicted. Because SHŌGUN is a political drama, not an action movie.
This really sucks was looking forward watching all seasons what a teaser
What a stupid series. The title is shogun yet we never got to see when and how the shogun became one. Here I was eagerly waiting for new episode every week just for the story to be cut short. People wanna see how the story will play out and not just verbally enacting it. This pisses me off fr
No season 2
a bastardization of the novel.
