It is super useful for a recording studio because it is also usable as a re-amp box too.

Great Vid. I just got an HX Stomp XL primarily for bass in live situations. Learned a couple things here that will help me get up to speed quicker. Thanks.

I've contemplated selling all my pedals and getting an HX Stomp :)

Keep the pedals and save. I always sell my stuff when I get a modeler then sell the modeler to buy back my pedals. The grass is always greener. I keep my Stomp now and use it most but sometimes it's nice to go back to stomps and amps

I currently use a Cali 76 for my compressor. I’m assuming I can turn all the compressors off HX so it doesn’t interfere?

I don’t have much experience recording and am looking into a bass setup .
Do you find the helix compressed the sound automatically more then what it would sound like to get a recording from someone who recorded an actual rig?
I feel like it squashed the sound a lot and I’m looking to record and send to a mixer and I want the most realistic round tone. I almost feel like I’d prefer the Straight DI in terms of roundness and realism .
Is it possible to connect a bass into a couple of real pedals (compressor, eq, etc) and then connect that straight into an interface? Or no? . I just write music and have a legit guitar rig but have little experience with recording like this.
    I’d appreciate your help! Thanks

@Hey There Yes, it's entirely possible to run a bass into "real" pedals and into an audio interface for recording.

The B7K emulation is pretty close. I have AB tested it against my B3K and its close, a bit fizzier in my opinion.
But it's maybe just do to my preset, probably somebody can also dial it in to be 100% close to the original.

I use my HX Stomp for my live acoustic stuff….. and for “fly” gigs where my Helix floor is too large to take with me…. Never use it for recording before……..going to try using it for recording!

It’s sooo good for recording because of its live monitoring setup!

@@adamsteelproducer I seem to use Amplitube 5 Max, Guitar Rig 6 or Helix Native for recording….. issue is that I seem to get bogged down with so many options…… I like that you can record a direct signal with the HX just in case you need to change the tone around mixdown time….. that’s where I seem to find issues with the original guitar tone not working for the sarong like originally thought it would…
