We got a call about a dog who was lying in the middle of the road in Thermal for over an hour and could not move. They were not sure if he had been hit by a car but there was blood on his paws. It was 115 degrees and the dog was sitting on hot pavement. The heat alone was going to kill him. His situation was dire.

What a beautiful dog. He seems to walk on the burned paw with no problem. I love the way he sat down on the road surface and then opted for the cool inside the vehicle again. Very clever.
Whoever adopts him will be very lucky.
He clearly wants to be the best boy possible. What a sweetie! When he jumped back in the AC in the car, it hit me hard. I think of all of the homeless animals and people out in that heat and it's heartbreaking. I hope he finds the best home for him. Thank you for saving him and thank you to the vet's office for being open for you.

As an owner of a Dutch shepherd very similiar to Pierce my heart broke watching his plight. But you folks did a GREAT thing and saved him. Pierce has a tremendous disposition and obviously very trusting of people - I really hope someone can provide him with his forever home and all the love and care he deserves.

Dogs are extremely grateful especially when you rescue them from a boiling hot surface and help ease their physical pain, it’s often just fear, and like this beautiful dog, he was very grateful for the nursing care he was given, they definitely remember when you’re giving them water through a syringe. A heart wrenching rescue and then very heartwarming that he didn’t want to leave the car that had saved him. I’ve had 2 German Shepherds, an American Staffy, A Bull Arab, and now my 5th rescue dog is a Kelpie X with some kind of hound, he is covered in scars from the abuse he suffered before I got him, it’s been 13 months since I got him, and even though he still gets jumpy even with me, he is very loving. I’m grateful for the time I’ve shared with all of them they have all been different with different challenges, but it’s always been worth it.

Yeah I was surprised he only lunged once and that was because he was in pain! Surprisingly friendly despite his poor living condition!
I adopted my GSD. Aftwr work, I take him for a hike or to play Chuck-It. We hang out outside for 60-90 minutes weeknights and longer on weekends. Evenings he cuddles with me and rests his head on my lap while we read, listen to music or watch TV.

We can all be rescues if we have the means and the desire.
And I also think there should be more done by the legal system to look for the types of “people” that can abuse an animal. It been said before, if someone can kill an animal, what’s stopping them from killing a person?
And I also believe that animal abuse penalties should be the same as child abuse penalties.

I noticed that to. To think that while he is hurt, injured, possibly abandoned and alone, he still trusted complete strangers to help. You expect him to be defensive, yet he remained compliant. A lot of people get dogs they know nothing about and then they find out it’s not the right fit for them and then just drop the dog off anywhere and in my opinion anyone who can just discard an animal as if they are nothing isn’t fit for any animal
Seeing him on the side of the road in the dust panting heavily in that horrible heat really hurt my heart. How anyone could leave him like that is beyond me. Thank goodness the rescue group learned about him and went to save him straight away. What a fabulous dog. I wish him all the best and much happiness. ❤️❤️❤️ I live in California. I am going to make a donation to this group to thank them.

It's the rez. They can't even look after their own kids or each other. There are dogs all over every Rez, it's life. Life on the rez is dysfunctional.
Way to go straight to the negative 🙄 Seek therapy. The dog is of a healthy weight with a healthy coat.... He could have jumped a fence, been stolen and jumped out of someones car in an unknown town, owner could be in the hospital with no idea their dog is missing...there's a whole plethora of reasons the dog may have been out there that have nothing to so with an having an AH owner.

I have a Dutch Shepherd and you are right. Trust me I was in way over my head after I bought her . She is a beauty but the biggest challenge I have ever had. Everyone who sees her wants to get one but I strongly warn them against it unless they have experience with this breed. Extremely hard to learn as you go along but too hard to let her go now.😊

Yes, they're a handful, if they get guardians who don't understand the breed, and just want them because they're gorgeous dogs.
They need l o a d s of love and care, and ofc loads and loads of activity, mental and physical training. I had a rescue, a groenendal. Got her when she was 14 mnths, everyone said "DON'T" cause she had experienced ery bad things in her young life, and she was hyper and nervous at the same time. But she turned out to be the best of dogs; Tons of "work", but it paid of. Never experienced a more loyal, fun, miscieves and smart dog, she was the worlds best companion, walking in the mountains, and she loved running in front of the snow mobile. We had her for 14 wonderful years.

I rescued a Belgian Malinois from our local animal shelter in 2019 to be a companion for our Husky. They are inseparable and it was the best decision we ever made!❤

Poor dog! These are super smart dogs, and active and agile, so hopefully he'll get a home with someone who understands and appreciates him. You could see how scared he was as he kept looking from one person to another in the back of the car.

Choice of words you replied is truly a gift from the holy spirit. Belgian Malinios are amazing dogs and its inteligence is beyond humans understanding although dog owners must be willing to put in the excessive time and energy needed to train these dogs. There are pleanty of people who have no idea that Belgian Malinios is more and more likely to be one of the best dog in the world. The truth is, audience or viewers do have the obligation to disagree, but should not underestimate its breed and its rescue. Very impressive indeed... thank you humanity with kindness...

Except I was practically screaming at the screen saying put the gurney up against the car. That part really ticked me off. It would have been so much easier to put the dog on the gurney instead of practically dropping him especially if you don't know if there are broken bones or other injuries. Outside of that I'm glad they got to him before heat stroke set in.

Pierce bad a healthy coat and weight. We have no idea how he came to be in such a dire situation. No obvious signs of abuse or neglect. He may have been stolen and escaped. Some situations - and people - deserve the benefit of the doubt. I just hope Pierce finds the nest forever home, and if his owner can take good care of him, that they’re reunited. It would be devastating to lose such a wonderful companion if in fact they were good companions for each other.

Unfortunately, the United States has been shipping Belgium Malinois to Jordon as bomb sniffing dogs only to find Jordon does not use the dogs, leaves them kenneled, often in filth, overgrown and curving nails, even starving.

This costs you nothing! Just a few minutes. Online contact your elected officials in congress. This program is costing US taxpayers millions, yes, millions of dollars. There are breeders/suppliers making a lot of money knowing the dogs are not really wanted and neglected. Only numbers count to elected officials. Online requests to discontinue this program are very useful.
Perhaps people shouldn't breed all these extra dogs. Those who do it for $$$ are heartless psychos.

What you wrote is very sad. I don't want to speak against any breed of dog, because I am a dog rescuer. So for me, each type is very important. But it is very sad that they are not aware of the capabilities of the Malinois breed. This breed is particularly intelligent and can be trained for many tasks because of its outstanding qualities. Even as a pet, it is worth more than a few breeds bred for hysterical fashion.

Noticed his teeth were very clean and healthy looking pink tongue. Hope they're reunited if they truly care. This little guy deserves a second chance. 🐶💖

Thanks for being there for these poor souls. That's a handsome boy and very sweet. He was gentle despite his obvious pain and the mishandling by the vet techs. Whoever dumped him out there dumped a precious treasure. I hope you can find him a loving forever home. He deserves it.
Please do not jump to conclusions. Malinois are clever escape artists. He may just have jumped over or dug under his fence. He may have been trying to follow his human who left home in a car for work and subsequently got injured and lost. He may (if he was still intact) been trying to find that female whose scent he could not resist. Or, he may have bolted after a loud noise scared him…Malinois and all related breeds are deeply sensitive to the sounds of fireworks, ect. Yes, I am grateful to kind people, but having been active in a related breed (Belgian Tervuren) for over 30 years, I know that many dogs are lost for more reasons than from being dumped. I hope they reach out to the Malinois rescue, as they have resources to help find the owner or to re-home him if necessary.

We raised GSDs when I was young. Very familiar with these breeds. They don't just get scared, wander off and, above all - not be able to find their way home. This poor guy had to have been many, MANY miles from his home to not be able to find his way back.
We live on a ranch in the high desert. It's a favorite dumping ground for unwanted pets. All of our five dogs and seven cats are DUMPED and showed up here. We see them all the time and play care taker until we can get some shelter org. to take the excess because we are just full up at this point. We know what a dumped animal looks like and this poor guy was DUMPED.
