Lol Nigel!! I've been recognised a few times locally but it's only the second time I've captured it on video!! I'm actually exited to fish some of these venues that I would usually overlook, all the best pal!
- Enjoyed the ramble with you mate. Glad you managed to find a couple of fish and what a great idea that fb page is with daily content from members. Tight lines bud. 😊🎣👍🏻
Cheers John, glad you enjoyed it mate, I think us anglers have little choice other than to embrace social media these days, especially during these times in the pandemic, it's a lifeline for some people & the knowledge gleaned from channels like yours & Facebook pages like the one mentioned in this vid go a long way to helping people achieve their own personal targets & goals! All the best mate, stay safe.
That was lovely to see your Video again, yeah it’s not easy for walking as this weather condition, actually I’m a seaweed foraging lover and just waiting for the weather to get better so I can go...here is Cornwall by the way, please keep warm and stay safe.
Maggie thank you, you're lucky to call Cornwall home!! I've dabbled with seaweed in the past & might do something regarding that subject in the future, keep warm & stay safe yourself, all the best!!
Fished the spot you were at on the Crouch last Wednesday (no lost gear!) - only had 5 bites and 2 fish - a rocking and a dab. Too much rain water has gone in to the river and the whiting have disappeared for the time being.
Rod I would like to have seen that, it would be nice to see a serious angler fish that spot!! At least you done better than me, I would have been happy with a dab & rockling!!
Great stuff Paul. I’m lying in bed, I’ve been quite ill with the Covid. I cannot wait to get back out fishing and your video has cheered me up. My next move will be to join the Angling Trust. Thanks
Robert thanks for the kind comments & thanks for taking my message on board! I'm so sorry to hear that you are ill with the dreaded covid, I hope that you make a speedy recovery & can get back out on to the bank soon, best wishes, Paul.
Hey Paul, It always makes my day when I see you have a new video. Nice to see that you finally caught a couple of fish but more Important, hearing you talk about the fishing situation at present. I have a cousin in Southampton who had been an avid angler for over 50 years and I’m sending this to him regarding the Angling Trust. He’ll probably be very interested if he hasn’t already heard of them. In the meantime, keep the faith. This thing’s going to be over one day. Best wishes from Colin.
Nice update Paul! Haven't got a clue what those fish were - unless it's Salt water, I ain't interested! Good luck with the species hunt - I thought from reading posts on the forums these species hunts were either Salt water or Coarse fish - I didn't know you could mix & match! Stay safe & well mate! 👍👍
Trampster thanks for the kind comments, I would rather be sea fishing but I can't go further afield than my local creeks & estuaries & they are full of fresh, freezing cold water which is driving out the sea fish at the moment & as for the species hunt, I didn't make the rules up but at least it's going to get me out fishing for species I haven't bothered with for years, thanks again, stay safe pal!
Good to see you out there, being the human being, not afraid to show when you've spilled all you kit on the ground. I love hearing birds in the background , was that a redshank? Down on the Crouch?
Excellent video Paul. Hats off to you for giving the Angling trust a shout out. I will be joining. As you quite rightly said, it's thanks to them that some of us can fish albeit locally. Unfortunately the shore is not local to me, so I have to wait until this lockdown is lifted. Hopefully sooner rather than later. 👍
Chris thanks, I think by joining it will prove beneficial in the long run for all anglers, I hope you get back to the shore in the not too distant future, all the best, Paul.
Great video, thanks for the shoutout. Just a heads up the lake at cherry orchard is actually no fishing and people are being prosecuted for fishing there even if they have a licence etc. Apparently the EA are trying to sort something out with Rochford council to allow fishing but with covid the council has been to busy to sort anything out so at the moment it remains no fishing
Ah when is it not raining?! And we've got storm Christoph coming down from the north 😩 in the next few days!! Thank you for the video you are a ray of sunshine in all this gloom 🌞
Nice to see another vid Paul and nice score on all those sinkers you found, i use the same type here. Great to see you able to get out for a fish during lockdown, no covid out when fishing! Take care
Cheers Mike, those sinkers set you back a couple of pound each if you don't make them yourself & as for social distancing, you can't catch covid when no one else is around, cheers mate, all the best.
Nice one mate and great video as per usual, well done for joining the Angling trust they definitely deserve our support and thanks for the shout out mate! 🤣😂🎣👍
Hi mate. Great vid. Don’t bother with the country park lake it gets absolutely plundered in the summer. The huge amount of litter left there is disgusting and you get so many people over there. Doggetts has got some big pike and carp in it. Essex Anglers is a great FB page. Hopefully see you soon.
Cheers Kev, thanks for the advice, it's a shame about the litter you find in public areas these days, I can now see the attraction of belonging to a club & fishing private waters. We'll get out & have a couple of sessions on the Crouch when all this madness ends.
My apologies for not keeping up with all. But I'll catch up later tonight. I've been hunting lots. Been lamping and ferreting. Birds and dogs. All good here. Hope you are well
Thanks mate, yeah it's shows how invaluable they are that we are able to go fishing during this lockdown & I've discovered a decent winter roach venue as a result!!
Paul thanks, I really think it's worth the money, it's good to have someone fighting our corner! The beard is purely a lockdown growth, I plan to shave it all off in time, it makes me look so old!!
Mick c thanks, I don't get down to the marina much, I remember about 10 years ago (maybe the last time I was there) I saw massive mullet swimming around but there were also no fishing signs too!
I am confused as it looks like 'Cherry Orchard Lake you point out on the map at the beginning, and I was going to fish there until I saw this on the Rochford Council Website: "Fishing at Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park Lake. Fishing is not permitted at any time." www.rochford.gov.uk/leisure-and-tourism/woodlands-parks-and-open-spaces/cherry-orchard-jubilee-country-park But looking at your video showing obvious swims I now wonder if there is more than one lake as i only see one on the maps. @@shorefishingessex Hi. No problem. During last summer I went for a walk over there and saw someone with 'stalking' gear for fishing climb over the fence and tried to tell them they were not allowed to fish there. Ash Mann thank you but you are wrong!! I took some very clear photos of the fish & counted the scales on the lateral line (I'm sad like that!) Scale count was 46 or 47, Roach have no more than 48, Ide have well over 50 & usually no less than 56, I do my research!!
Amazing video you deserve a medal promoting the word of safe angling .... stay safe good work and tight lines ...
Daniel thanks for the kind words, all the best, tight lines!
Another good video Paul, enjoyable watch. Nice couple of fish for your efforts too 👌👍🎣
Masterfisherman thanks, it means a lot coming from a fellow RUclipsr & accomplished angler like yourself, all the best pal!
Great video. New camera is great and great new spots to fish👍👍.....and you got recognised...fame at last!!

Wild Essex, no worries, glad to be of assistance & thanks for the kind words!
i live in chelmsford and traveled to BRADWELL ON SEA last sunday (BLANKED !!!!) BUT i was glad too get out traveled alone and kept myself to myself
Alone is key, I think the social distancing part of lockdown is the most important aspect.
Love ur videos 🙂
lucywombat thank you!
Il be sharing this on my Facebook page with all my fishing mates just a shit the fish shops are closed so can't even get bait here in Southampton
Danny thanks for sharing, it's a bummer that you can't get any bait, at least my local Angling Direct shop does click & collect.
Nice one mate 👍🏼
Cheers me old mukka!
Nice roach!

You up near Baltic Wharf
I load out of there 😎😎
Yeah mate, tried to fish it once & the security guard went bonkers!!
