i like the video mate , im just getting into cray fishing the method you use was cheeky but effective well done i do however think if you where a bit further out with a trap you would get more of those lobster size ones myself when fishing i use an alcohol stop that works well on meths no noise either you can make them out of beer cans as well they call them penny stoves just encase you want to have a go when night fishing , and have some cans left over lol tight lines and thanks for the video im also from SX but moved to the midlands many years ago just quick tip save your ice water for once you have cooked the crayfish to stop them cooking and cool off quicker
Amy, die hard seafood chowder girl so the idea of winkles, mussels, clams, tiny shrimp anything like that in seafood chowder and makes me very happy although I am dying to try a razor clam we don’t have them here or at least not that I’m aware of I’ve never seen them on the menu never had an opportunity to buy them in the any specialty seafood shop where I live so that is one of those things that I’m dying to try when I get to come to England very soon
As a landlocked girl in the middle of the United States, where I am surrounded by ever kind of how you could possibly want I don’t get to seafood I love now my other half that I am dating is in the UK and I am incredibly excited about getting to wild forage and try things like this, so I appreciate you actually doing a video on how to prepare Winkies because that’s not one I hadn’t necessarily seen Dan although I had heard about it and you actually prove there’s a lot of meat to be had for a small amount of foraging and I am a diehard let me forage for my herbs, veggies, berries, mushrooms, and even our meat here because hunting season and fishing is huge in Montana so I appreciate it even three years after you put the video app so thank you
Just watched this video that I have missed,it’s amazing fishing party on boat. I’m missing your catch and cook video, hope you and your family are well!!
This video just popped up, been a while since you last posted, would be good to see you do a few more, loved all your videos, so informative.
I love the way you show us what to do without going on and on about the gear. You just have fun and go good places, do good things. Thanks mate.
Whatsize hooks were you using buddy.?
whats the float rod
Never mind what you didn't catch, you caught dinner and removed some pests.
reminds me of the series cook on the wild side i have always had obsession what can i find in the hedgerow and other seasonal goodies
informative my kind of culinary choice
Anyone know where I can go to camp and catch cray fish in Essex?
There's a blackcab driver in London name of Cockney Reg who sounds just like you!
Great video 📹 👍 👏
Those quahogs are chowder size
Are all winkles ok to eat or is it just dark 1s ????
It goes very well with tomato rice 👍
Deep fry whole, just salt and flour and black pepper “tiny bit” and omfgosh 👌🏾
Tramp Scampi. Very good. Nice video 😂
Great video m8 I've just moved to Frinton and found your videos on this one are those beach huts between Frinton and walton or are they near the naze end ? Thanks Steve .
I used to go to southend pier with my dad when I was a kid, we'd take a couple of crab nets to & catch shrimp & edible crabs, ahh those were the days.
Hi, I recently got back into sea fishing, it all started when I was walking back home from doing a bit of shopping & came across this plastic bag with a note with "free, please take" written on it, i opened it up & there was some fresh water fishing gear in it, 2 6 foot rods, 5 reels, some floats, weights, hooks, unused line & 2 catch nets, i did some research & found out that inland freshwater fishing is quite expensive nowdays, im unemployed so fishing on a budget is the best thing for me, i still had my old 30+ year old telescopic dawa rod in my loft but nothing else, I searched eBay & found that I can get the other equipment needed at quite cheap prices, so i got some lures, line a couple of sea reels & a spare 7 foot rod etc etc, sometime this year I'm gonna come down to Leigh on sea & try my luck in the shallow areas where the seafood stalls are, failing that I'll make the rest of the journey further down by train to try my luck there, I got some drop shot lures I can use to try for flounder & other flat fish spiecies, if i got tuw cash i might even try at the end of the pier.
you should give harwich essex a try good fishing and lovely people !
