Dutch Bros was founded on February 12, 1992, by Dane and Travis Boersma, brothers of Dutch descent, in Grants Pass, Oregon. Their family's third-generation dairy farm had been struggling due to changes in environmental regulations, and the brothers were looking to start a new business. Travis Boersma suggested a coffee cart where they could sell espresso. Dane Boersma was able to help finance the idea with money he had set aside while running a Dairy Queen franchise. They spent an initial $12,000 on an espresso machine and a single pushcart, which they set up in downtown Grants Pass. The name Dutch Bros was chosen in honor of their immigrant grandparents.
They soon added four more carts, and by 1994 had established their first drive-through location. In 1996, the company began roasting its own coffee, sourcing beans from El Salvador, Colombia, and Brazil.
In 1994, Dane and Travis Boersma struck a deal with a customer, Marty McKenna, which allowed him to open his own Dutch Bros in Medford, about 30 miles away from Grants Pass. McKenna's first stand performed so well that he soon opened up a second one across town. In 1997, the Boersmas brought McKenna on as partner, hoping he would continue to expand the Medford operations. Two years later, they bought out McKenna's stake in the company.
In 1999, Dutch Bros started formally franchising. The company opened its 50th franchised drive-thru location in 2004. That same year, shortly after moving into a new headquarters in Grants Pass, a nearby dumpster fire spread to the building, destroying Dutch Bros roasting equipment, five vehicles, and thousands of pounds of coffee beans. Following this incident, the company continued to expand, and by the end of 2004, operated 61 coffee shops spanning from Northern California to Oregon's Willamette Valley.
By 2009, Dutch Bros was running approximately 135 coffee stands in seven states and generating $50 million in gross annual revenue. Travis Boersma was featured on the American version of the television show Undercover Boss in 2013. Revenues continued to grow into the mid-2010s. The company made $238 million in systemwide sales in 2015, $350 million in 2016, and $415.3 million in 2017, by which point there were over 283 Dutch Bros Coffee locations.
In January 2017, Dutch Bros purchased a vacant shopping center in downtown Grants Pass where their original push cart was located.[11][21] The company converted 20,000 square feet of the shopping center's interior into futsal courts for local youth soccer teams and workout space for its employees.[23][21] In March of that same year, the company bought the Washington Federal bank building across the street from the shopping center, with the intention to move its headquarters and 150 employees into the bank building the following fall.

Dutch Bros is finally focusing growth in the south east. For those who have never had it, it's about to take over and be your new favorite coffee stand.
I live in Georgia, where we still do not have a Dutch Bros. I've been to several locations in northern California and I'm excited to see their growth, as a customer and shareholder.
I will be making a 3 1/2 hour drive out tomorrow to visit this new location and I'm very excited about it. I say it's well worth the day trip.

My hubby and I love Ductch Bros. I had the carmelizer and the Hawaiian tea. Both were very good. My hubby had the German chocolate iced coffee and the cocomo. He enjoyed them both also. We can't wait to try other drinks. I can't wait to try a soda. ☕️🧋

Dutch Bros in Sevierville Tennessee has lots of options Kandy, so I bet they could get some kind of fun caramel & cinnamon drink for you!
The best coffee shop, hands down. You have to try the Dutch Canyon. I get it as a cold brew, with chocolate milk and soft top. If you like coffee...you can just get with cream instead of the milk. My other current favs are Tropical green tea and the Palm Beach green tea. You cant go wrong with any drink there! I AM a little prejudiced because Easton is my son (Bethanne my daughter in law obviously). So excited for Eastern TN to get a DB. 🎉🎉🎉

I had a frozen Annihilator coffee drink, very good, my son had Irish Cream Iced Coffee and it was amazing! Can't wait to get a regular coffee because it tasted so good. Don't be fooled by the long lines. They have a great system to get you thru quickly. We timed a car and with 10 in line they had their goods within 4 minutes. Very excited to have them in Sevierville. It's an interesting company and I've heard they treat their employees well. Thanks for the review!

If it’s cold outside, I’ll take hot coffee/chocolate. But if I’m in WDW on a hot day, give me a cold blended drink! The blended golden eagle is pretty amazing!

The new Dutch Bros Coffee looks good. When I'm travelling around, I also drink large french vanilla or caramel types of iced coffee. When I get down their in June, I definitely will be stopping there.

I’m from Oregon, where Dutch started! I’m so excited that they’re finally opening more in Tennessee since we moved out here last summer! The hot cocoa is my favorite - candy cane hot cocoa at Christmas is amazing! I love the iced golden eagle chai - it’s one of my favorites when I don’t get cocoa and their lemonades during the summer are super refreshing! My daughters favorite is the blended shark attack rebel, extra thick. And those of us from Oregon just call it “Dutch” - we leave off the bros. 😉 And definitely get the app! Earn free drinks and get a free one for your birthday!

By the way I had two coffees from Dutch Bros this weekend. The Golden Eagle was so good. Sunday morning I had the FlapJack Mocha hot since it was cooler and it was very good as well. Dutch Bros really has great coffee. I tend not to frequent coffee shops because some of them are overpriced but Dutch Bros is good and decently priced. I have had the Cocomo iced coffee and their German Chocolate iced coffee. It was delicious!!! They have such an extensive menu and need to explore it more!!! 😋

I would have them do a specialty for me, I would see if they are able to do a butter beer type iced latte with oat milk and a brown sugar shaken iced latte with oat milk! Plus, I like to try the chocolate chip muffin top!

Well I spent I believe over 2 hours in our local Gabe's today with my mom. I was so excited to watch this video because I love coffee. I sent this to her not knowing it would be near a Gabe's. Come august when we go on our big family vacation I know where my day will be spent. 😂😂 Seriously though the coffee looks delish 😋
