@@kprnchpn if you've watched a lot of these videos then you would know that her parents aren't going to be pushing their children to sing inappropriate songs. It's completely appropriate for her to sing this song and I'm sure she chose it herself from listening to her music choices. Dave and Ashley are completely capable of knowing what songs are appropriate. I was thinking while Claire was singing how good it is for her to have the experience of singing heartbreak songs. It's going to be a plus for her rather than throwing her out there as a naive child without any exposure to the challenges of love. If there ever was two parents on social media that have shown incredible foresight into raising children it's Dave and Ashley. I'm sure you meant well. Just giving you another perspective to think about.
What I like about Claire's singing is that she doesn't sound like a 20 yr. old woman. She simply sounds like a 9yr. old, who is growing her singing skills. How refreshing!
She definitely is talented, and it shows from the musical family, but I like how she doesn’t try to sing older or scream, she just sings and the way her voice is natural and not forced.
Interesting, some of the little girl mega singers don't come from musical families, so you never know... Personally, my own mother was VERY musical and she had a beautiful voice and sang around the house daily. I, however tested in the fifth grade as having perfect musical auditory perception but I can't vocally replicate notes worth squat! I completely suck as a singer! 🤐

Claire has been singing since she was 3. She's basically run out of Disney songs to sing at this point (and when she did the villain songs, people took issue with those too). This is the type of music that a 9 year old listens to. She doesn't need to 100% understand every word to do a beautiful job. You know, it's funny, I don't see any of these types of comments when Claire does her hymns. To me, those depict just as complicated of a relationship as these types of songs. She doesn't need to have lived it to sing it.
She needs to branch out more and explore more emotions and range, and that's what these types of songs allow her to do.

Olivia is actually a really good artist for Claire to cover. At least this song and Driver’s License. Just strumming’ and singing. I love how comfortable Claire is playing and singing. Very accomplished for someone so young. Who knows if she plans to do this professionally. But you know it will be something she enjoys doing her whole life.
Her cover of Drivers licence is absolutely amazing for an 8 year old child and Oren Linor an opera singer / voice coach said of Claire performing Drivers licence and I quote, now that's what I call an artist. But then Claire has been performing publicly since she was 3 years old, so we should not be amazed at the talent that Claire displays.
With over over 4 million subscribers, I'd say she's already doing this "professionally." :)
@@wendistraight6425 sadly Claire is a long way from being a professional performer. She does not have the professional help and guidance of other young talented youngsters such as Angelica Hale, Celine Tam, Evan Riley, Roberta Battaglia, Jeffrey Li, Sofie Fatu, Bennicio Bryant and of course the delightful Krisia Todorova from Bulgaria. There are many others I could name but sadly when comes to the extremely talented Claire Crosby, professional help and guidance has been missing since she was 6 years old. This is not Claire s fault, she is only a very talented child. But it takes alot more than a pretty voice and a pretty face to become a successful professional performer.

I would like to know if Claire truly knows the meanings of all these songs. I know she is a lot older that she used to be, but some of these songs I wouldn't expect a nine year old to be singing at this level.
My daughter is Claire’s age, and she has never personally experienced what these lyrics describe, but she is an intelligent nearly-10 year old girl, and she asks a lot of questions about the song lyrics she hears. She definitely understands the lyrics to this song. But she mostly just likes how the song sounds and singing along to it.
She is totally feeling this music!! Her body movements and facial expressions are totally her being pulled into song

Me as well! Lindsey Lohan comes to mind. She is the family paycheck currently so the parents could care less about exploiting her.I think they are living vicariously through her.

As I said, it's a grandmother's opinion. I'm not confused as to whether or not Claire is "living" the song. I just feel a disconnect when she's delivering lyrics of this nature. I'm in the music industry here in Nashville and I don't take the power of a memorized lyric lightly. Lyrics can embed themselves over time. But again, it's just my feeling of discomfort; I certainly don't speak for the masses. I understand that.

Do you sing and/or play any Beatles songs? I was listening to Join Denver and Olivia Newton John and The Beatles, mostly, when it started learning to sing and play guitar. Such a different era in music. Its would be fun to hear you sing and Olivia Newton John song or one from the Beatles or John Denver!

She honestly sounds better than the original and has wayyyy more talent than the original singer who sounds like she’s whining and crying while singing. Also Olivia cannot sing, I think Billy Joel’s reaction to her singing made that pretty clear.
