Per Gessle was the mastermind behind Roxette. He wrote that song. This performance in Göteborg was a tribute to Marie Frederickson, his Roxette bandmate and close friend, who had died about 2 months before this performance. Agnes Carlsson is one of many great swedish singers Per has worked with. To fill in as a singer for the second most successful band in Swedish history, most have been a huge honor to her. Please, do some basic research before reacting. Your reaction would have been much more interesting, if you had know this basic context before recording.

A tribute to Marie was always going to be sung with a sense of calmness, respect and admiration. RIP Marie
A year late to this one, if you have not found out by now. This is a tribute to Marie Fredriksson, who had just passed away. Per and Marie have collaborated for a very long time, and were close friends. Together they were the group Roxette formed in 1986 - 2001 (the did release albums 2011,2012). Songs like The Look, Listen to your heart, Joy Ride and It must have been love (from the movie Pretty woman) are among their most famous songs. Close to every one who had a radio during the late 80s and early 90s have heard these songs.
Marie and Gessle both had great domestic solo careers. Marie Fredriksson passed away in december 9 2019, and this was one of the many tributes in her honor.
No one can replace Marie, of course, but this tribute is very, very good. My heart breaks for Per Gessle, too. Im just gutting too emotional now:(
This video gives me the double dose of sorrow.. and you can see the true sadness in Agnes eyes..This was a Tribute concert for Marie Fredriksson ( I bet 70-80% of Swedens population watched this concert..).. and only a month or two after this, the drummer Pelle Alsing suddenly passed away as well.. He was such a kind Soul.., I used to meet him at our local Cafe Brasco here in Stockholm.. R.I.P. Pelle and Marie.. Thank you for all the great songs !!

I love forever Roxette's songs, i knew theirs songs in 1987, i was a kid then, their energy and feeling accompany me and make me feel young as I was then.

Yes, Roxette is a Swedish band and Per Gessle is a VERY successful composer - not only for his own bands (yes, plural) but also for other artists. Agnes is really really great BUT this is from a tribute concert in honor of Roxette's brilliant singer Marie Fredriksson who had died some months earlier after years of battling cancer. And somehow I don't think it is more than right that you should listen to Marie's version. You don't necessarily have to make a reaction video. But please also listen to Marie. You can either choose the official video from the film (Pretty Woman with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts) or one of the live versions. Oh, one more thing, the version you saw with Agnes - that evening was a sad evening, due to the recent loss of Marie Fredriksson, and I think that's what you picked up on from the video you reacted to.

Marie Fredriksson was singing at Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O'Neils wedding.
I know you've said you don't wanna know anything before ypur reactions, but imo I think you sometimes should know the context. Because here you didn't even know that he's in Roxette and that this is a tribute to Marie. Agnes, btw, is the one who sang on Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel's wedding that you saw, I believe, last year.
Marie also sang at a Swedish Royal wedding of course!

Agnes and Per and the original band did gives a tribiute for the memory after Marie tragic died in cancer

She only honor Marie and help Per in that hard time to bring memory of Marie.

Agnes Carlsson was the winner of Swedish Idol 2005 and the is married with another big Swedish singer “Vincent Pontare” and the couple have lived in USA for a long time. Don’t if the living here in Sweden🇸🇪now again?
But I recommend you too listen too Agnes “Fingers Crossed” and the couple have also done a “Avicii” (also Swedish🇸🇪)song after his death💔😢.
