In this video we spend the second half of our day on Miyajima (宮島), a small island just outside the city of Hiroshima. While officially named Itsukushima, the island is more commonly referred to as Miyajima, Japanese for "shrine island". This is because the island is so closely related to its key shrine, Itsukushima Shrine. It is most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water. The sight is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.
There are also wild deer on the island that have become accustomed to people. In the day the deer wander around the same sites as the tourists, and in the evening they sleep along the walking paths. Be sure to see our little encounter with one very courageous and determined deer.

That sounds amazing!Thank you for sharing. Because we are on a cruise we are working with limited time to see as much as we can only scratching the surface of each city we visited. We really appreciate your videos (including QM2), but please, please hold the camera steady, or get a gimbal. Also, don't pan left and right so quickly. Our eyes can do that in person, but when you move so quickly with a camera, it is very jarring.
