Jem and The Holograms are invited to perform at a concert benefiting the victims of world hunger. When The Misfits learn of the concert, they try to horn in. Sally Brand, the woman behind the World Hunger Shindig, tells them they can perform, but can’t be on the live album unless another group backs out. Eric Raymond schemes to keep The Holograms away from the concert and to make a tidy sum of money for himself in the process.

Jem is Jerrica's secret identity, a rock star who has lots of adventures with her sister Kimber and their band The Holograms. Her boyfriend Rio struggles with his feelings for Jem and Jerrica as he doesn't know they are the same person.
On the flip side, there’s The Misfits, a rival band that constantly causes trouble. They’re always trying to outdo Jem’s band, often resorting to dangerous and mean-spirited tactics. The show also features guest appearances from different musicians and bands, keeping the music scene fresh and exciting.
