A really insightful documentary trio on a fascinating and completely neglected topic. It would make a great film.

Excellent. Glad you mentioned the theory of the sub firing on battleship row, the documentary made years ago on it was pretty convincing to me, I'd love to hear the counter-arguments.
    Thanks for posting!

Great job with this research. This extremely interesting topic is often mentioned in passing when talking about December 7th 1941.

Excellent series on the PH Type A midget subs, Crosser.
I remember seeing the oil on silk paint made in honour of the crews years ago and wondering why there was one sub crewman missing. Silly me in my youth years, thinking they probably had no picture of him at the time, thus not including Sakamaki.
Looking forward to you next video. Well done.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the channel! I just finish reading “A very rude awakening “ by Peter Grose about the Japanese midget sub attack on Sydney Harbour. Incredible story… Thanks again…

I was wondering if you would mention the U.S.S. Ward. I can't remember if it detected the mini-sub the night before or early Sunday morning. But it reported the sighting and that they had shot at it with one of the Ward's cannons. The commander of the Ward radioed Pearl, but they didn't belief them. Whether the report could have changed the outcome of the attack on Pearl Harbor is difficult to say. Early Sunday morning, the RADAR report of planes heading towards the Harbor was written off as being planes that were expected from the mainland. That did have negative reaction, with someone being held responsible for not alerting the "higher-ups" about it. I have forgotten what the outcome was for that particular incident.

Young Shipfitter, Syl Puccio, was tasked with torching a hole in side of Sakamaki sub after it was dragged to PH Navy Yard. Fearing booby-traps, a hole was cut in hull below conning tower and Puccio entered. He said his lasting memory of entering was looking up and seeing a 20w lightbulb, labeled “GE, Philadelphia USA”.

Fantastic set of videos Central! I never knew about the story of the 4th sub at all. Great pictures too! Would you someday want to cover all 4 Kongos?

      Thank you.
May I ask what you mean by covering the Kongō class? I have a video on their developmental history and I plan on doing their sinkings in my standard format, so one at a time rather than a series like this. The subs were placed in a series because they all sank together while trying to complete the same task.

@@centralcrossing4732 that is definitely a better way to cover them.

I watched a video of a mini Japanese sub sunk of Pearl Harbor , the people that where filming this mini subs could not understand why it had steel cables attached to it, i explained to them that those cables were used to lower the mini sub in to the water and then they where cut, next time e saw the video the section of the steel cable was cut . The sub was captured after the war and dumped there to give proof of the attack on pearl harbor, which gave me more reason to believe it was a false flag.
