ASMR Planning January with my New Year's Resolutions (soft spoken)

- I know, 10 days into the new year, many people have already dropped and forgotten their new year's resolutions. But in my opinion, now is as good a time as any to make them! In fact, maybe even a better time than around the holidays because we might have a more realistic (not to say, sober) idea of our options and ressources at hand.
So today, join me in planning the first month of the year. Since filming this video at the weekend, I've been super motivated and have not only had my first conversation lesson in French, but have booked five more! The only thing I'm still behind on is yoga, but then again, who says that 30 lessons have to be completed in 30 days. If the challenge continues into February, that's okay too.
Do you have any plans for the new year?

Your voice could melt the polar ice caps. Thanks again for the great content and hard work you put into these.
Oh wow, thank you!! 😳🤍🤍
Your voice and content put you in my all-time top five ASMR channels. Thank you!
What are your other favorites?
💖💖💖
@@robotlove3000 I think they would be The French Whisperer, Moonlight Cottage, Articulate Design, and Relaxing ASMR (in no particular order). If you love Melange, check them out.
So comforting on this cold, rainy, and dark night! thank you Melange! This was just what I needed.
I'm glad to hear this, hope you found a good night's rest!
Love the info on nail color in the description 😊
Lovely and so relaxing as usual, thank you Melange! :) also love the note about the nail varnish being hard to remove in the description lol, can relate, the glittery ones are so tough
Haha yeah and I had to get it off properly for work, my poor nails have never been so mistreated 😅 Loved how festive it looked for the time around NYE, though!
I just wanted to leave a comment to say I am so so happy I found your channel, your videos are so comforting and interesting. Looking forward to watching more in 2023 😊
That's very kind, thank you so much! 😊🥰
ASMR and Bullet Journals....two of my favorites
Always brilliant!
Thank you, Ms 🙏
i have been falling asleep to your videos all week... cant wait to listen to this tonight!!
Hope you slept well 😊
I love your way of bullet journaling - it's one of those things that always appeals to me in theory, but in practise I've never done it, because I always imagine I will forget about it, or give up after a couple of months, because it always seems so involved and time-consuming. But the way you've laid out your journal is beautifully simple and it's inspired me to give it a try this year, after all! So thank you for the lovely video... would be fabulous to see a follow-up in a few months' time, if that's something you felt like doing :) Also, Happy New Year - and have an amazing time at the Munch exhib!
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that! It's true, a lot of bullet journaling looks way too elaborate if you're not into the actual planning and drawing part of it. I'd rather have something I can quickly tick off at the end of the day or where I only need to fill in a few words, and still come back to it at the end of the month and feel accomplished.
The Munch exhibition was fantastic!
@@MelangeASMR He's such an extraordinary artist - I'm not sure if I'll get to Paris this year, but I remember going to a quite large Munch exhibition in London, many years ago, and being mesmerised! My bullet journalling is going well - only one week so far, but I'm liking the streamlined approach - and I've been very oragnized all week (which isn't always the case)! 😆
I have so many interests that at this point I have about seven different places where I keep track of things... one basically regular day planner (except it's just a notebook with rings because no pre-planned day planner has ever worked for me), one empty notebook attached to the day planner just for writing down longer-term to-do lists, one big thick notebook for mind maps for making sense of things, two binders where I plan my creative projects, and papers on a pinning board in my room where I write down finished projects and where I have a cleaning checklist...
... that's six. The seventh is Google Docs where I can jot things down on my phone no matter where I am or what sort of thing suddenly springs to my mind. :D
It sounds like a mess, but I find it's the only way I can keep track of most things and keep myself more or less organised!
That is impressive! And very cool too, it's not always easy to figure out the right kind of system. I might come back to your list for some inspiration....
@@MelangeASMR It took me years! :-)
I just found your videos today and they are so calming! I enjoyed the Viking one quite a lot. I too also only started this year's journal a bit late 😄
Anything started in January is early enough haha.
Thank you so much, that's great to hear!
Listening to this is bad news in the middle of the day...I was falling asleep at my desk! LOL! Happy New Year Melange...hope you're able to keep to your resolutions!
Whoops 🙈 Happens to the best of us! Thank you :)
so calming as always! thank you for the videos 😊 also this is a really nice way to approach new years resolutions and the like!! may have to try it!! 😊
🧡🧡
Your voice is dreamy and it is fun to know more about you 😊
1) Your nails are gorgeous and yeah, Essie is hard to remove - I usually wait until it eventually cracks and peels off 😅. 2) Your penmanship is glorious 🤩 3) This was soooo satisfying (and inspiring) to watch. I’ve never felt the urge to use such a journal, but I just might look into it 🙂
I wish I could have waited into it came off in its own but I figured I should look a little more professional at work 😅😅 I ended up scratching it off with a file and then drowning my poor nails in remover to get rid of the rest.... Half of them broke the day after lol
@@MelangeASMR ouch 😣
@@IsItOrNot Yeah, wouldn't recommend it!
My approach was similar to yours this year. Started planning and journalizing on the 4th of January I think. I have a really good astrological planner specific to the southern hemisphere that is different to your bullet format. I like your very creative and colourful approach whereas my astro journal is not my own creation but very well set out. The planning process is a declutter of the mind. I started well in the first few days and have lapsed the last couple. But my planning was extensive so hopefully what I miss in a fews days can be recaptured a bit later on.
Lucky you to be exploring Paris so early in the year. Enjoy.
That sounds great! Honestly I've found bullet journals a bit overwhelming in the past exactly because there is no set lay out and like you say, a good structure accounts for a lot. Best of luck with catching up and staying on track!
The perfect video to accompany my covid recovery 😴❤️
I love the nail polish but yeah, glitter polish is a pain remove. I tend to use a peeling base coat with them which makes life a little easier.
Get well soon!! 💖 Hope it's light and over quickly.
True, I forgot about the peel off undercoats, they work great! it was a bit of a mess this time scratching it off haha
I was telling my husband that I wanted to set up a system to keep me organized for the projects I tackle onboard our sailboat, from weekly to monthly, quarterly, biannually, and annually. I was thinking of finding a vintage recipe box and using indexes and cards. This is perfect timing. Thank you!!
I'm also doing the 30-day Yoga with Adrienne, today was Energy. She's the best!
I take time for 30mins a day to study with Duolingo to relearn French from my childhood. Thank you for the reading recommendations.4
For my commitment to read more, I have started Jane Urquhart's A Map of Glass. She is a Canadian author.
The last is to be more creative. I have found a hat pattern called Irish Braid, which challenges me to learn 3 new skills - reading from a chart, the kitchener stitch, and working on circular needles. I'm comfortable with cable stitch and decrease but the other 3 will expand my knitting skills. I hope. :) Wish me luck! lol.
How interesting that we have similar goals this year. What are the odds?
Happy New Year and thank you for all the wonderful content all year long.
All the best from BC Canada!
Yesss love the similar goals! And I really like the idea of using different time frames to break up the year, that sounds very useful.
And I also use Yoga with Adriene haha, her 30 Day Challenges have been a fixed point in my calendar for years now. It's such a great way to start into January. Sadly I'll have to postpone it to February now since I hurt my ankle :(
Best of luck with your goals!! And the Irish braid sounds like a very nice project. I have no doubt it'll look great in the end :)
@@MelangeASMR :) LOL...as of Mar 1 I will be starting at Adrienne's first 30 Day and going through them all repeating this year's in Dec. Happy Yoga! Cheers!
New subscriber, really enjoyed this video.
Hi, thank you so much!
Will you be doing this video each month? You’ve got some great tips and it’s very relaxing 😊
I have to admit, those are most of the tips I have haha. Every month would probably get pretty repetitive, but I'm thinking of doing updates with the seasons or when things are starting to look a little different :)
@@MelangeASMR that would be really lovely! You can always flick back to how the last season went as you go through them 😊
I don’t know why my original comment looks like it disappeared… oh well- just want to make sure I say I loved this video. A new planner is always such a delight, and your chatter makes it even better!
Oh, I checked because youtube does sometimes hide comments, but I can't see anything. Odd!
Thank you, sweets, you really are the best!
It’s funny how you mentioned about listening to a certain band at a certain time of the year I would do the same like I would listen to AC/DC during the summer months and yes in the winter months as I always thought yes’s sound always suited winter mmmmm! yes I’m a bit strange ha!ha! Happy new year melange!
Happy new year, Teddy! It's nice to have a seasonal soundtrack though 🎵🎶
Hi Melange! Wonderful video, yet again! I’m not sure if you take video requests, but I just started that Netflix show The Empress/Die Kaiserin about Empress Sisi, and since I’ve heard you mention her in one of your videos about Austria before, would you be interested in doing a video about her for those of us who don’t know her history? She seems to be an important figure in Austrian culture but I never knew about her before this show! Thank you and love your videos!
Hi there, I'm always happy to hear videos ideas! And yes, Sisi is someone I'd love to cover, but I'm also a little intimidated. Between the very romanticised image of her in tourism marketing and the reality of anorexia and constant travelling to escape the court in Vienna, she's not an easy person.
Hi! Rory the baby and I say thank you! But also thank you for showing me how bullet journals work! I wanted to purchase one but I wasn’t sure what purpose they had! I’m going to buy one! 🎉
Aww thank you and hello to Rory!
Bullet journals are great and you'll find tons and tons of inspiration online! What I'm doing here is really pretty basic (I got a little overwhelmed by all the choices 😅)
@@MelangeASMR I’ve got one! I’m so excited ❤️❤️
Hi there! Love your work ❤Could you please let me know the name of the French radio station you mention? Thanks 😊
Of course! It's France Culture, included in the Radio France app.
That's so cool that you are a Ghost fan :)
Obsessed right now!
@@MelangeASMR I currently have the intro to Kaisarion as my alarm sound
You have planned out quite a bit for yourself this year.
Hopefully you will stick to most of them. I know that can't be always easy to do.
Sometimes discipline and determination require their own focused effort.
That's true! I've found that having external lists that I can tick off really helps me with staying consistent. Plus I try not to worry about losing streaks or the like - you can always start again!
Very pleasing penmanship.
What a wonderful video! Where did you get that timer? I've never seen a silent one like that
Thank you!! It's this one:
www.timetimer.com/products/time-timer-mod-home-edition
The only downside is that it does tick very quietly once the time is up. Bit weird, but not much of an issue.
Ghost - Impera is a great album!
Love it!!!
🙏
I feel your pain - written French, despite learning it since I was 5, is abominable. Pitoyable! I hate trying to remember the gender of things and doing the 'accords' .... hard when you go from English to Romance languages that have genders! However, I should probably get back to learning since I bought a few books on French grammar... heehee
I can imagine, even with German with its three genders as a base it's difficult! But by now I've figured I'm not going to need perfect writing skills in my life, so it's ok not to worry about it too much and to instead have fun with songs or conversations - or grammar exercises, frankly I find those fun too every once in a while!
Hallo Melange, kamnst Du so ein Video auch auf deutsch machen?
Dankeschön 😊
Ich wills nicht versprechen, aber ich merks mir mal vor :)
your handwriting is a trigger on its own
