Cavalry (Horsey) gives 6
Infantry (Cannon) gives 8
All 3 give 10
Also, if you see a plus two on one of your cards, it means the 2 units are going to be deployed in that territory. For example, you got a card from mozambique and it is yours, 2 units automatically will be deployed there.....

You are underestimating your troop strenght too much. You could have easily taken everything to the south of congo and tanzania, then fortified both and then move through the horn of africa to secure and fortify sudan for a huge strategic advantage.
You would not only control 3 regions but any enemy would have to march through two heavily fortified countries in order to get access to your weaker lands. Not to mention the fact that you would prevent the complete capture of north and central africa by a rival.
