    Anna Puigjaner is a PhD architect, researcher and editor. Co-founder of MAIO, an architectural of ce based in Barcelona that works on spatial systems. She is currently in charge of running the magazine Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme and teaching at the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB/ETSAV - UPC and Massana School of Design.
    She has also lectured in GSAPP-Columbia University, Harvard-GSD, Yale University, Madrid Schoolof Architecture ETSAM-UPM, Washington University, Universidade de Lisboa and Brussels School of Architecture UCL-LOCI, among other universities.
    MAIO has recently completed the construction of an urban square, an exhibiton at the MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art) and is currently building a housing block in Barcelona among other projects. Last year MAIO participated at Chicago Architecture Biennial 2015, curated by Sarah Herda and Joseph Grima, their work has been also exhibited at the Art Institut of Chicago, at the Biennale di Venezia 2014 and 2016, and at the Museum of Modern Art of New York MOMA, among other galleries. MAIO’s projects have been published in magazines such as Domus, AIT, Volume, Blueprint, A10 and Detail; and awarded several times, among which stands out: Arquia/Proxima Award 2014, FAD Award 2013 and 2015 and XII BEAU Award.
    Anna has been recently nalist of the 2016 Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative and awarded with the 2016 Wheelwright Prize, Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD), for her proposal Kitchenless City: Architectural Systems for Social Welfare.
