I bought the Cowboy C3, very happy with it! I use it for commuting to work every day (40 km in total with slopes) and that works without any problems! Compared to other ebikes, you still have the feeling that you are cycling and not just sitting on a "scooter". At first, I had some doubts about whether it would work with my old Huawei p10 (now 6-7 years old), but everything worked fine. In conclusion, very happy with my purchase :)

Why don’t you do a long term test of the Vanmoof? They’ve had so many problems with the S3, but reviewers only ever say how great the bike is for the short time they have it. Live with it for a month, and then let your viewers know what the actual ownership proposition is like.
I was in the store in Williamsburg and S3’s were lined up to be picked up after maintenance. Saw 2 coming in as I was in the store. I love the design but I drive toyota or Lexus so reliability is huge for me
I loved my S3 VanMoof, but sadly the design looks better than it works. I went through three brand new bikes and two replacement rear wheels+eshifters, and could never get a working bike for long. The most I got was 150 miles from one bike before the e-shifter broke. In fact, the e-shifter was the culprit for all the bikes. I REALLY wanted the S3 to be a success; when it works, it works brilliantly. And their customer service was excellent (they kept sending me new bikes at no cost, and always sent full packaging and shipping labels to return whatever bike I was sending back). I'm in the process of returning the last bike for a full refund. For background info, I'm in Southern California USA.

What rly interests me is the fact what happens when the battery is empty. Are those bikes still „drive able“ without the motor? I‘m looking for an e bike because I drive around the city all day long from meeting to meeting. So when the battery is empty am I just stranded with a way to heavy bike?
when the battery gets really low the motor stops working but the shifter and "smart features" will still work until the battery is completely drained. Then, heavy bike.
Be careful! If you live in North America, Vanmoof is a scam!! I spent $3,900 $US on a fully decked-out S3 on August 15, 2022. I live in Windsor, Colorado. The bike did not arrive until February 2023, six months after my check was cashed. It came broken and missing parts. It does not shift gears and the motor does not work, never has. It is now April 7, 2023. They can take six months to ship the bike, but you only have two weeks to return it even if it arrives broken and you don’t figure it out because it is the middle of the Colorado winter. Customer service wants to know if I took it to an authorized bike doctor. There isn’t one in Colorado. This company is ill-equipped to sell to North America.
0:20 You can stop watching after this.... Removable battery. No brainer. Cowboy! 5:03 Be careful: power is in Watt, battery capacity in Watt-hour. 500wh power makes no sense.
What I'm NOT KEEN ON w/the Van Moof is the inability to do much SELF-SERVICE, or CUSTOMIZATION like on a normal bike. I like HIGH H'BARS for a VERY UPRIGHT riding position, AND THESE DON'T LOOK AT all CHANGEABLE, and I don't see them OFFERING any UPGRADE PARTS to make Personal CHANGES. I mean, if it works PERFECT for you AS IS, that's GREAT, but I became a bike mechanic BECAUSE I like to make my bikes a personal STATEMENT. But it IS Quite a ststement on it's OWN. I think they will work out the BUGS in the Newer Models, they seem to have a good handle on it engineering-wise. Just make them more Customizable and USER-SERVICEABLE!
Has anyone owned both bikes that can say if they like one more and why? I currently have a VM S2 and its showing its age with some reliability issues. The service has become Abysmal over the years and though Cowboy doesnt have a service rep in the US (that I know of), Vanmoof is pretty much useless in that department anyway. The only reason Im not jumping ships to Cowboy is I really want a boost button and gears for going up hills.
Vanmoof has one major problem and that would be the lack of sizes I am 5'6 and the s3 is way to tall for me and the x3 stands out like a sore thumb which kind of kills the whole point
Let me clarify this for you. The X3 is suitable for riders from 1.55 cm (5'1) and you being 167 cm this would be the perfect fit. Why don't you take one for a test ride.
I can only strongly advise against buying a Vanmoof bike. Their service is below any quality standard that I have experienced. EMails are not replied to for weeks (on several occasions), they promis to offer services like the bike doctor, which they then don’t have. After some technical issues I finally returned my bike and then they refunded only the bike price but not the over €500 I paid for extra services like maintenance plan and theft protection/ tracking. Again, emails not answered. I have now engaged a lawyer to go after my money and bought a Riese and Müller bike instead. Yes, it is a lot more expensive, but then you deal with a reliable company with great support and the ability to get your bike fixed everywhere.
@@vasilegigi2803 a bad day? i am happy to share the email conversation. You will see that it takes them regularly 4 to 6 weeks to reply. I am still waiting for part of my refund. The Vanmoof customer service people have shared their frustration with me on the phone about their management. I know two people in the Netherlands that worked their and left because of the chaos. Believe me, I am not having a bad day. Life is too short for that. I just want to share my experience.
I can confirm that. My journey with VanMoof took 2 Years and ended with giving the bike back and getting full refund. I would have loved, if any of the bikes had worked properly or where not damaged on arrival. 4 Bikes, 2 Years, many many phonecalls (that i had to pay from german to the Netherlands), lots of videos and pictures, because 1 video and 5 pictures are not enough to understand the damage on the bike, no no no just request more and more. Bike on arrival with plastic bits coming of the bike, and the Support sends me an E-Mail with an advice to take a toothpick and glue the parts back to the bike. Bike with scratched frames, scratched and bend mudguards on arrival, bike with no pedals, damaged saddle, and broken grips. and never ever in that whole time anyone from VanMoof offered some compensation for the time i wasn't able to acutally use a bike and wait for the new to arrive, also the time i had to be at home to wait for ups to deliver or take the bike. NEVER EVER will i be buying something again from VanMoof. And based on my experience i can only tell people to stay the hell away from VanMoof. If the bike works as intended, its supposedly fun to ride, but when you got a bike that slipped the very bad and lacking quality control......
My experience with both the bike and the customer service has been very poor. The S3 has developed a lot of faults. The battery pack has now completely failed. London store cannot fix the problem since they cannot get replacement batteries since so many have failed. The bike is eventually on its way to the Netherlands for them to try & fix. Only took 1 month to get them to take it for repair. Awful, awful experience. Please avoid and don’t be seduced by the looks.

@@markbarron8477 what refund? I sent my bike back in September. Got a partial refund. They fuel sales at low prices to cover operating cost until the whole thing collapses. There is now way that they can go on like this for long.
All this smart technology but the bike quickly became a brick. After a month of seemingly good operation, new S3 failed with error 16 battery on a trip in the middle of a remote section. Took forever to get through to support who told me they were very sorry but there was nothing I could do but to get the bike to the SF office. Lost not only our entire trip and dream (SF to LA) a ton of money to get home, not to mention the time lost, stress, and serious dangerous situation because of this bike failure. It also appears to be a common occurance. Can never trust this company. Its so dangerous because it can take you further and then leave you stranded. Do not buy!
Wow thanks for the feedback. Scheduled an appt in SF to ride. About 40 min. away from me. That would not be a big issue for me on a return. Not too much trouble with customer service other then waiting a long time for support and travel distance?
Very good video but sorry this bike is not for me, I need about 30 miles per hour speed. My current 500W E-bike can do 20 miles per hour. When I’m on a smooth long road, I prefer to have speed up to 30 miles per hour and range covers up to 100 miles per charge. Remember E-bike is evolving so quickly every year, therefore before deciding to buy one, must do your homework seriously, a lot of options n choices.
Robert maybe take into consideration that different countries got different regulations regarding E-Bikes. For example for Pedelecs in Germany you cant get faster then 15 miles per hour, or you have to get a small bike license and are not considered a "normal" bike anymore. In America its your mentioned 20 mp/h. The specifications you demand won't be coming very soon. The main reason for that is the battery capacity. And maybe before telling other people to do their homework, you should do also a bit of homework and realize, that there are also people who have other needs, then yours. but maybe you think your needs are the counterpoint of the universe?
'They revolutionezed the bike market?''' Must have been a very silent revolution. They are both ultra niche products. You take one of them to a decent bike shop and get a big laugh.
It’s funny that I did not get laughed at when bringing my bike in. Would be very unfriendly to do that anyway. But maybe that is the custom in your very developed country.
E bikes are s great concept .for people with bad knees .however e bikes will never replace pedal power bikes MTB/ROAD .E BIKES are for bad knees people. Lazy boring riders
That is nonsense. With 400% extra power, the base leg power still matters. I can propel a fully loaded 220kg e-cargo-bike to 25 in 2 seconds. Without good legs that is impossible. On straight roads you can get to 30km/h with good legs. Again not possible with bad knees, as the motor is completely off at that speed. Good thing is I never have to push my knees to painful limits, and expected average speed is very predictable. You can get the exact same door-to-door speed no matter it is a clear summer day or that Eunice is messing up.

For a long time I was hesitating between Van Moof and Cow Boy ... but now that there is a Cow Boy 4 and a 4ST (step through) coming this month ... with many improves (better motor power, quad lock integration and recharge of the phone from the bike and a new app that should be better coming out this summer) ...
I'm think I may fall for one of those Model. I just requested a test ride for the 4 ST (but want to test both models)
Thank you for the video and waiting to see YOUR test of both model 4 (and i heard of a S4 by Van Moof...) .
Its literally 600 euros more, between cowboy4 and S3...I mean
Nice review. Well done.
Nice comparison of both bikes.
Great review but you hardly showed the bikes at all???
What rly interests me is the fact what happens when the battery is empty. Are those bikes still „drive able“ without the motor? I‘m looking for an e bike because I drive around the city all day long from meeting to meeting. So when the battery is empty am I just stranded with a way to heavy bike?
when the battery gets really low the motor stops working but the shifter and "smart features" will still work until the battery is completely drained. Then, heavy bike.
The fact that Cowboy does not have a store in my city is the biggest issue.
Good video, thanks!
I will go with Vanmoof
Please compare S5 and cowboy 4
Thank you
0:20 You can stop watching after this.... Removable battery. No brainer. Cowboy!
5:03 Be careful: power is in Watt, battery capacity in Watt-hour. 500wh power makes no sense.
250 watt motor not „250 watt-hours motor“
VANMOOF ALL THE WAY!!
I have one battery for cowboy bike but I don't have the key and bike.what I can do with this battery
I'd get the Van Muff
Hey which one is good for Uber eats ?
Vanmoof or cowboy ?
none

The front light of the Cowboy 3 is pretty useless if you want to see anything on dark roads
More vids like these . please. Mam can you cover some Trek powerfly models if possible?
How does the Ampler Curt fit in there?
Top Video.👏👍

Review the Analog Motion AMX please :=)
The Veloretti
Has anyone owned both bikes that can say if they like one more and why? I currently have a VM S2 and its showing its age with some reliability issues. The service has become Abysmal over the years and though Cowboy doesnt have a service rep in the US (that I know of), Vanmoof is pretty much useless in that department anyway. The only reason Im not jumping ships to Cowboy is I really want a boost button and gears for going up hills.
Hi there - we are doing a comparison video soon. Maybe that helps to make a decision.
Vanmoof has one major problem and that would be the lack of sizes I am 5'6 and the s3 is way to tall for me and the x3 stands out like a sore thumb which kind of kills the whole point
not VanMoofs problem that you don't like the X3 hahahaha
@@julianarjah1175 ya it is because because they want my money and they ain't getting it by building bikes sized for giants
Let me clarify this for you. The X3 is suitable for riders from 1.55 cm (5'1) and you being 167 cm this would be the perfect fit. Why don't you take one for a test ride.
@@julianarjah1175 for the same reason stated in the original comment

VanMoof customer service is very good maybe you have a bad day🤝
@@vasilegigi2803 a bad day? i am happy to share the email conversation.
I returned my bike in september and they refunded me €600 too little. Every so many weeks I get an email how sorry they are and that they will refund soon. In my experience, this is the action of a company that is near bancrupcy a
van moof overall better bike for me
I just asked me what you do underneath the table?!🤔 e.g. 2:57
hahaha, best reply to this kind of questions 👍
😜
Too many issues with vanmoof, error after error just not worth the hassle, customer service is good
fully agree.
Ah yes. Mines errored me while accelerating.
Completely agree. The S3 is total cheap rubbish when compared to the S2. Had sooo many problems. Just wish I could return it for a full refund
@@markbarron8477 what refund? I sent my bike back in September. Got a partial refund. Every few weeks i get an emIl how sorry they are and that now they are going to fix it.... in my experience this type of action is often done by companies before they go bust.
Equal e bike is Better.
I know a bike better than both of these... its called the WAU

Vanmoof customer service is horrible.
