I am 36 and today i had my first boxing class. You know I am proud of myself, at least i didnt die after hard workout. Coach showed me alot of my mistakes i did in front of the heavybag. When i said i think i can not do it anymore at the end of the class he just answered you can do it just last 10 seconds, go and guys i did it! It was tough hour of training but when i left the gym i was proud of myself and lets see what i will be able to do in half of the year!
Dang, I’m 26 I thought I was already to old. A friend of mines said it’s time for me to start training. I been working out A lot trying to get back in shape but boxing shape is different.
I’m 38.. just considering calling a boxing gym here in town Never been in a fight in my life Just trying to improve myself the last year n a bit Pretty nervous about how out of place I’ll be Also nervous some young kid with something to prove will injure me I can’t afford to be missing work so… that’s a worry
Gettin ready to go to my first class in 15 minutes. Im 30 lbs overweight havent been exercising as much and a lil nervous but i know this will be good for me and will push me to train and workout harder. Pumped 🥊
@@dylangill5180 really well so far. I feel like a wet noodle after every class but im really enjoying it. I was kinda nervous before classes but now im legit excited. I work super early in the morning so its hard to have energy for class at night but i found a good caffeine free pre-workout that gets me right and i can still sleep afterwards 👍 I def have a cleaner diet and make sure i take good care of myself. I think I needed to live a bit more responsibly before joining but im doin well nowadays. Highly recommend training for anyone that feels interested, just bite the bullet and join your gym
I’m 39 going on 40 and I joined a boxing gym it’s definitely 1 helluva workout for sure but it’s great stuff boxing is more so coordination as far as footwork, jabs, hooks and combos FOOTWORK IS MOST IMPORTANT…it gets easier and makes sense once you do it, I can talk about it all day but it’s definitely a experience you’ll have to go thru to fully understand it
I'm 37, not very tall but fit and healthy (well....I smoke a lot but don't drink lol). Just came home from my first boxing lesson. That little 'Beep Beep' is gunna haunt my dreams!! Lmfao but can't wait for next week as I hit the gym and have rugby training too. I just wanted to spice things up a bit 💯 Let me know how your journey goes Gentleman ☮️
Anyone who wants to get into boxing or martial arts, IT IS NEVER TOO LATE! I’d always recommend starting by buying a nice weighted adjustable Skipping rope, best tool you can have outside the gym in my opinion, and shadowboxing, eventually moving onto shadowboxing with 1 or 2kg hand straps, can save you money on a session or two
learning the punches is the easy part. It's learning the proper body weight transferring when throwing them for power and efficiency that's the hard part. it takes at least a year to start getting the feel for it. And then you start learning the defensive and counterstriking. then you do light sparring and realize how much more you need to learn, lol. All a fun journey.
I have 0 experience and want to join a boxing gym. I don’t want to join one of those fake boxing fitness gyms but I also don’t really want to compete. I just want to master the craft as best I can, what kind of gym is right for me? Any advice anyone?
No standard of gym can get you started unless you seek the knowledge yourself. Once you start to research yourself you’ll be able to identify what gyms are beneficial and what gyms are unsatisfactory. All depends on how you are as a learner and how determined you are to train. It all starts from within brother 🙏🏾

Lol "next day they pay me my money that's what they do" looks like most people quit after 1st day and didn't gave him his money
From what I've heard, first day is mostly free of charge.

By any chance is it too late to join boxing to compete at 21?
It's never too late, unless you want to be champion level then of course the younger the better. But still, 21 is a respectable age to start.
