  • I haven't visited London for years, so long in fact last time I visited it was a paper travel card or nothing. On my recent visit to London I purchased an Oyster card and tried out as many public transport options as I could in a four hour period. Honestly, I just love trying out new modes of transport and I was eager to get on as many as I could.
In this video I'll show you how to buy an Oyster Card and how to use it.
I will use The London Underground, London Bus, Docklands Light Railway, The Elizabeth Line, IFL Cloud car cable car and finally the Thames Clipper boat. Which one did I enjoy the most?
I hadn't really done much planning and was a bit nervous about jumping into this video but it was surprisingly easy and seamless to travel around from place to place mixing and matching public transport options as I went.
If you are not visiting from overseas you can just tap on and off in the same way with your credit or debit card, you can do this as an overseas visitor too if you want but an Oyster Card will help you avoid high transaction fees with your bank. Assess if the £7 the Oyster card costs will be worth it.
