    Sometimes, in this kind of show, the fact that the buildings look 500 years old can be a disadvantage: after all, in the 1500s many of those buildings were not that old.

      You know, I've often thought that too. It must be a difficult decision whether to make it look like it looked 500 years ago (ie make a stage set) or make it look "authentic" (ie use the real thing as it looks now, 500 years later). I can't decide.
