He is the most un-pompous, un-preening great artist I’ve ever listened to. Maybe Aaron Copland, for a tie. From their public personas, I would never believe either was capable of greatness - - but that is probably the way it is with real geniuses.

I kept waiting for him to talk about how difficult it was to get a vacuum cleaner at the Hotel Chelsea, but it never came.

They made an indirect reference that suggests that this interview took place in 1985. At one point, Wallace says, "You were 68. That was two years ago". So, Miller who was born in 1915 was 70 at the time of this interview.

A proper interview. No angle to it just wanted to talk intellectually to a play right

He seems really nice in this and really enjoyed the interview but I read he put his son who had Down syndrome into an asylum and never visited him again, ever. His wife visited but he didn’t. Don’t like him after that. Very cruel. Oh well.

Maybe you should not believe everything you read. For actual information, see his daughter's biography of him--"Arthur Miller--Writer" and you will learn the truth.
