    Very reliable car if it's maintained. I got one of these back in the day with 35k miles on it. I pounded it up to 140k and had no issues. The trans fluid should be changed every 10k, and get a wideband if your turning up the boost. I literally did hundreds of pulls in mine and launches. I had catless exhaust, mopar stage 2 kit, then switched to Diablo tune and meth injection, spiked 24psi on meth and 93oct, street tuned on DSP. Car ripped for what it was, it would destroy stage 2 STIs, bolted Evos, GTOs, C5 corvettes, 370Zs, and tons of VWs, ect. I took it on 1000+ mile road trips all the time aswell. Never left me stranded. Best car I owned.

    HELLA reliable. I've ownd one for many many years, restored by my hands and acquired from some high-school kid for $4000. Presently 200k+ miles, OG head gasket, HARD HARD USE - BEAT-ON HARD. And I intimately maintenance and monitor the vehicle like it's a viper. I have perfect syncros, and nearly perfect compression across the board. Thing is an absolute dream of a platform, engineered by the incredible PVO team.

    Wheel bearings are the biggest issue if you corner hard. Get solid shifter bushings and use royal purple in the trans. Lower control arms bushings keep an eye on them.

    Thank for that information man. I’m about to go check a 2003 Dodge Neon SRT4 with 65k miles on it. It had two previous owners and they seemed to have replaced cam sensors and other things since of their ownership. I will also do what you have mention when I test drive it and down shift between to gears to find any signs of problems in the tranny. I’ll repost about my experience later on today. Or I’ll be driving home in a 2007 Corolla S with 63k miles, clean title, serviced and maintained well. One owner.

      +Alfonso Antunez no problem! Glad to help! Price verys alot with them! It also partly depends wherr you live. Around here a decent one with 100k or so miles goes for $5.5-7k but a clean one with a big turbo, same miles, or maybe just alot of bolt ons can go 7-9k. And then a show car or one that has been built with no expense spared can go anywhere from 9 all the way up to 14k if someone can find the right buyer

    • @NoTraction
      @NoTraction  7 лет назад

      wow that was extremely low miles for the price! But also the time or year you buy one, and where you live are big factors.

  • @BananaDolphin99

    Do not buy if you can't even change your own oil or add an air filter. You'll have some minor problems with it frequently.

    Mine has 220 thousand miles on it and ive literally only changed the clutch master cylinder a wheel bearing a differential that was only kuz i wanted lsd some axles becuz the boots were all cracking flinging grease everywhere and then just the basic maintenance

    • @NoTraction
      @NoTraction  2 года назад +1

      Agree. They seem to be very hit or miss, just really depends how they’ve been maintained, as with any vehicle of this age now

      Admiral Akbar if you have money to spend on maintenance I’ve had mine for 8 months and spent thousands on maintenance little things break pretty often but at least they won’t break anytime soon .but I also drive it pretty aggressively so that probably has a lot to do with it

      Chad Pope before you replace it flush it first. Might be just a flush is needed. Take a hose to it and flush it out might work

      @motosapien2310 7 лет назад

      Mikkee Frankoo I would change both since is only a couple of hours work and you will have peace of mind knowing they're both new

    • @deadman12078
      @deadman12078 6 лет назад +1

      The trans seal where the axle slides in.
      I don't know about changing both axles... They seldom go bad unless the boot is damaged.
      if anything do an inspection of the front end to make sure everything is tight: tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings. Look for leaks...

    No they're not. I treated my car with care. I've had alot if issues with parts giving out due to shity cheap parts

    • @NoTraction
      @NoTraction  7 лет назад +2

      aky19832001 ive never had any issues and I've put 20k and almost 3years on mine since I've owned it. It really depends on how previous owners treated the car. and of course there are always a few lemons

    • @NoTraction

      im Jonny well of course when you get up in miles a car is going to be less reliable. But at almost 120k now i have had no major Issues. Also, I have multiple friends that have owned these. only one has had major problems, but that thing was a piece of poop before he bought it haha

    • @NoTraction
      @NoTraction  7 лет назад

      im Jonny 95k if i remember correctly? only issues I've had were steering pump going out and a cracked oil pan (but that was my fault)

    • @jerziboricua1

      that's true it's still a neon but I have 3 cars so I drive her on weekends and car shows . but like any other car if the previous owner never gave her love you will be in a financial situation at this time being that the car is old it's a hit or miss .
