    Rode this line in 1961, steam hauled from Birmingham, double headed, train split at Dovey Junction, one part south, we travelled north. Grand memories!

    Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for making it available. Richard Green, thank you filming and recording it. I am sure Richard would have been delighted if he had known the Welsh Highland Railway was to be reinstated as it is today. I recall walking the track bed in the Beddgelert area prior to its rejuvenation.

    In the 1960s we had several holidays at Criccieth. I remember well the Cambrian coast express and the change from steam to DMUs and de-staffing of stations.
