I Tested THIS Simple EMA Crossover Strategy For 100 TRADES.. Here's What I Found

- In this video, I backtested a simple 10/20 ema crossover strategy (that many beginner traders tend to use) in order to find out if it really works.. the results were quite interesting😅
Reminder of some of the rules:
1. I'm testing this all on EURUSD
2. I'm only using the 15 minute timeframe
3. The data is from August 1st, 2021 and onwards
4. I'm only using the 10 & 20 ema
5. I'm entering one trade at a time
6. Stoplosses are placed 0.5-1 pips past the most recent highs or lows
7. The risk is 1% per trade with a $1000 starting balance
8. The risk to reward ratio is a 1 to 2 (TP is double compared to the SL)
9. I'm only entering a buy or sell after the next 15 minute candle opens, once the emas crossover
10. 100 trades are being tested in total

Throwing a 50 ema then only taking the trades in that direction would work much better. No crossover though, just enter the trade when the price action crosses the 10 ema. Also adding the MACD may help with confirming entries with momentum direction on a higher timeframe. If trading on the 15m, change the MACD to 1H (without histogram).

Instead of 10*20 EMA if we could do 25*50 on 1D time frame it generates much better crossovers less fake opportunities. I have tested this before and it does work way much better but the trading opportunities are way less but more reliable than 10*20 or 9*21.
Again, I tried to make this as simple as possible so I know that some rules could’ve been tweaked. Anyways, let me know what you’d like for me to test next👍🏼
Hey great video, please test the results over 100 trades ONLY going long when the 10 crosses above the 20 and ignoring all downside trades. Also please try this on a 5 minute
What if you only traded an 89 EMA as a buy sell line on like say a 5 min and eliminate all trades outside of RTH. Test that...

Back test 89 ema as a buy sell line. Eliminate all trades outside of regular trading hours. Buy above sell below. 15 min time frame. Close upon retouch of 89ema.

matt let me tell you the best crossover to buy and sell, 5ma with 15 ma and 44 ma for trend it will work in anytimeframe everywhere. 🔥 tested

Maybe one just traded with the primary trend. I see a lot of big moves missed cause trades were taken against trend so probably improve substantially. Look to exit on cross back? Nice job though

5-13 30minutes timeframe
Yo request you to backtest this same strategy but on daily timeframe.
A single moving average + candlestick confirmation strategy backtested would be siiick

Loose the crossover that you took when the markets were ranging. Trade the crossovers catching the trends.
It would’ve been interesting had you also included going short into account.
This is an edge if used between 11a to 1pm - It would hav been 75% wins
