  • Follow the lean journey of a growing donut shop as it troubleshoots the adoption of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
    EPISODE 8 SUMMARY
Learn from Daniel's mistake and DON'T make kaizen overly complicated or hard to do. If you require perfection you will never get started! Daniel delayed placing labels for inventory management for about 2 months all because he had the idea that it had to be a certain way. In the end, he threw it all out and did something much more simple.
    ABOUT THE LEAN DONUT SHOP
The Lean Donut Shop is a real-life company (aka The Donut Theory, thedonuttheory...) that was birthed in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting in a home kitchen, the business took off! It grew into a temporary shared commercial kitchen and a 1947 Ford Half Ton mobile donut truck, and later into a brick-and-mortar storefront in the Fall of 2021.

Excellent example of Kaizen kept simple. Always reach for the mind before the wallet. Trystorm the idea with simple solutions (like your masking tape example😊) then, if it works and you want to jazz it up a bit, have at it…appreciate the video and condor!
