This was awesome and as much as I enjoy the antics of Ellis, I think God had him sit this one out as even he wanted to hear a genuine reminiscing conversation between these two. The 80s were an exciting time for skating and a part of me misses those days.
@@wardenerbros I'm gonna disagree. I think Jason is one of the best interviewers I've ever heard. He can make people feel at ease and start having fun. I bet Tony loves having someone to carry half the load, as well. But, to each their own.
It's rad to hear Tony Hawk laugh with such gusto in this episode. He is not always like that on his show. That laughing combined with how he engages Gonz here, really shows how Hawk has such a high perspective of Respect and admiration for Gonz. Gonz shows it back with how he cites these random idiosyncrasies that Hawk does not remember but always relates to. It's sick. Your watching two real Genius's speak hear. All good vibes in this vid 🤙
Now that Tony has Gonz on his show if we could only see Natas & Rocco would be icing on the cake! This show will go down in history for sure! The two best skaters “EVER” and old friends makes us ALL smile and think how great the 80’s were!#🛹❤️
Wow. Only 5 minutes in and it is literally an earth shaking experience. I'd watch any Gonz interview, but given your shared history, this is the only forum that could deliver the nerd goods for our generation. Thanks for this milestone.
This is probably my favorite so far. I don't know why but Tony walking back in frame after getting a drink or whatever made it better, just a couple of homies chillin.
simply because we don't have to listen to a podcast interupted 75% with Jason's annoying ADHD trying to match EVERY detail with his perception of his own life.
@wardenerbros yeah, I'm glad its not just me. I try really hard to not be that way, be he really makes it difficult. And at least you can sort of skip through the ads lol

what was freaky was that i was looking for interviews or podcasts of mark gonzales all day today, just watching a thing here or there, not really able to find anything. but seeing this notification made my whole year, this might be the first full interview of this wonderful man. hes right up there with rodney mullen, and i thank yall tony hawk and jason ellis for showing the greater public this much needed icon.

This was truly Legendary!! I can listen to Gonz & Tony talk about OG stories & random ish for hours. Can we please get a part 2 with Gonz, Rodney, Neil, Natas, & of course Tony all in the same room, that would be historical!!!!
Gonz is his own entity. Amazing man. GREAT interview. Loved seeing Tony genuinely laugh..Grab Blender and sit him down on the podcast. The only two I'd want are gone too soon, Phillips and Underhill. RIP
The pod was over an hour long but only felt like a few mins! To have Mark Gonzales on Hawk vs Wolf, or rather 'Hawk' today, was a real treat. Thanks so much to you both for all the skate history and funny anecdotes 🤩
What a mesmerizing interview! Gonz is like Picasso, though I'm not sure if he's more the painter or the paintings. The conversation moves like his skating-wholly unique, disjointed, and seamless at the same time. He is one of the most versatile skaters we have, and thank goodness we have him. The random shared and complementary memories bestow laughs and nostalgia on us. Thank you for this.
