*Only this year(20179) i bought hero black **do7.pl/GoPro4** till then had been using hero 4 silver and ims literally the best i promise! All 4 years capture flawlessly! Battery is even better than hero 7 one*
If you forgot your PW. Forget the Bluetooth connection AND Forget the WiFi connection (if you already connected to your GoPro in the past) on your device. Then go through these steps. You will be prompted to re-enter a new name for your GoPro and PW. I also forgot and this worked for me. I have a GoProHero4 Black.
Perfect help... pushing side and power button at the same time is a little bit tricky but finally it worked. Thanks !
Doesn't work for me, when I press the wifi button it brings me straight to wifi settings. The wifi doesn't turn on so therefore can't reset it :(

Hey Mic, I have got a prob with my GoPro Hero4 Silver Edition. When I press the settings button for 2 secs to get a wifi on, I don't get any sound or blue LED light. Therefore, I can't connect my cam into any smartphone. Can u help me pls?

Important, first hold the side setting button 2-3 sec and after that press front "mode" button.

I have v02.00.00 of the GoPro HERO4 Silver. It doesn't work :/
OK, I've figured it out. In new version (v02.00.00) you need to press the button "reset cam" in "settings"menu. After that you will have a choice to reset the camera or just the wifi.

It does work....I just had to find the "gopro settings" in a different way.....then finish the job.

So after I do that I go to add the camera to the app and I get it somewhat connected but then when it connects the app says "The camera password is incorrect. You may have changed it from another device...". It doesn't have a reset password option or anything. I tried typing in the pin and it recognizes it as a pin and not a password.
Was this procedure also benn tested with the latest sw release on a 3+ model? Maybe it is working same way there too.

is there any way to change the wifi password without the app or wifi remote? trying to connect my gopro to my computer
its easier to do this:
1: Press the Mode (front) button until you see the Setup Gear icon.
2: Press the Shutter (top) button to select it.
3: Press the Mode (front) button until Rest Cam is highlighted.
4: Press the Shutter (top) button to select it.
5: Press the Mode (front) button to highlight Reset.
6: Press the Shutter (top) button to select it.
When the camera powers on, it will be set to all of the factory defaults.

Hum. New problem. I've reset wifi and camera. Now I cannot turn on wifi. Holding the side button only brings me to the wireless menu. It's on off, and any attempt at turning it on does not work. Any ideas?

I'm not sure why it's not working on mine :( I try to connect to my gopro but the app doesn't locate the camera. I've tried changing gopro batteries, turning it off, opening and closing the app, turning Wi-Fi off and on, etc. :(

How come mine says invalid password, but I typed exactly whats on my Go Pro camera? I had this issue after deciding to change my wifi username on the Go Pro app and resetting my Go Pro camera and I did delete the old username on the app. It won't work when I try entering the password. Help Please! :(

When I hold the side button it just takes me to wireless settings. I cant for the life of me get the reset to appear.
while holding setup button press and release power button i have done it and it worked.

This would be helpful but I think my camera is faulty as wireless symbol not even coming on let alone blue led. Been playing up not connecting then connecting only sometimes. Been playing around with it all night, gonna smash this piece of shit with a fucking sledge hammer.
