I hope you enjoy these tips and tricks from this video to get the best quality video out of the Mavic Air 2! Thanks for watching, drop a comment below!
Awesome Vid !! I have the inspire 2 and Mavic Pro 2, and honestly for the money the Air 2 is a steal!! thanks for the downloads also!! Would love to take a workshop from you in the future if that's available or online one on one tutorials!! I m new to video, been a photographer for 30 years
Probably the most informative and to the point video on the Mavic Air 2 that i have seen yet. Even explaining things in depth from a beginner to professional prospective. You have a new subscriber my friend!
Learning the dark art of motion blur.... using a variable ND filter. Setting to manual... iso 100... 2,7k at 50 frames... setting the ND filter looking at a bright area of the scenery till it starts to darken off...gives me options of slo mo. Giving good results.
I just got a Air 2 a few days ago, $789 for the fly more combo is tough to beat for what you are getting. I took notes, and will be trying out these settings. Thanks, subscribed!
Thank you for this informative video. I learned a lot from your tips and tricks, and I appreciate your free LUTS download. I can’t wait to try out these settings on my own drone and see the results. You are an awesome teacher and a talented filmmaker! 👏👏👏
Great video! While flying the drone has been natural for me, I'm still learning the basic of photography/videography so your explanations on why settings should be changed is very much appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. You have helped me greatly. I just shot my first video for youtube and I will change a ton of stuff for my second video. Very grateful, thank you.
Really great stuff, Devin. Just subscribed. You covered all aspects of making the results look dope, whether you want to do post processing or not. I've watched maybe a dozen videos trying to cover the same things, but your video did it the most comprehensively AND succinctly, an impressive combo. Will be referring to it often as I begin to explore dropping auto and switching to manual.
That’s awesome, I’m so glad to hear my video was helpful. I put a lot of work in and hope my points make sense and that I provide decent examples! Thanks for the stoke ✌️
Can't everyone just explain it this good And just perfect guides to do something that seems complicated but you made it all simple very clear cheers mate
3rd or 4th time watching this video. Plan on watching this a lot more if I still don’t get it down. Color grading/ editing is a future beast I will have to slay
Recently brought the Mavic air 2 and loving it so far. Thanks for the tips. Great video, easy instructions and most of all you talk at a speed I can understand rather than 500 miles an hour like some lol.. subscribed 😊
Great video. Explaining nice and at great pace. So I was glued to what you wer said. Learned a lot . I have the mini2 so I don't have all the settings the air 2 does. But I will go out and try to get better footage. Any brand nd filters you recommend or ones to stay away from? Thanks
Devin.... just subscribed.... I like what and how you are presenting... thanks.... keep sharing.... truly appreciated as I am totally new to the drone & film/photography world..... 👍🏻
Devin ty so much for this run down. Recently purchased the air 2 and loving it. Been looking for something like this. Instant sub. Ty for helping educate a novice drone user and look forward to more. Btw, I also bought the flymore combo w/ ND filters so I look forward to that video as well.
Congrats on another useful video. I hope you do well with your channel. Keep it real, keep it honest, keep it helpful. Your channel has potential and I hope you get many more subscribers.
Amazing work! I got my Mavic Air 2 a few weeks ago and I just got some ND filters ( PGYTECH ) 8 16 32 and 64. Your footage is super clean and I hope you can make a video on how to use ND filters. Again, great job on your videos. Got yourself a subscriber.
@@devinjtatro iv always wanted to get a mavic and now I have its fin but the knollage of how to get the best footage is something I need to learn and your way of explaining is very clear, concise and makes me wanna go fly more! Definitely subed and looking forward to seeing more or your videos! Keep up the good work!
I do own this drone and this video is great info for it. But more pressingly, what is the song you use for your theme music?? It's absolutely delightful
Good question! Mainly to slow down any micro jitters I may have caused while flying .. slowing it down from 30 to 24 and esp 60 to 24 it smooths everything out.. sometimes I shoot 24. It just depends on what it is 👍
Nice cinematic shots Devin! 1:59 is my favorite shot. Good work with the drone footages, looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing your settings used!
Do you know of any reasons the mavic air 2 might be giving me grainy images? settings I've used listed: Bright sunny day ISO 100 4k 24 fps shutter 1/50 ND 64 filter H.265 codec D-cinelike auto white balance histogram shows everything leveled out in the middle, but I still get grain. Very noticeable in the shadows, but noticable on perfectly lit objects too.
Great question, looks like all of your settings are correct but I’d consider maybe a lower ND filter. Last night I did a shoot where I was shooting 4K 30 ND 16, shutter 60 iso 100 and I ended up needing to bump my iso up to like 400 which I didn’t want to so then I took the nd off and switched to 4k 60 no ND and shutter 120-160 and iso 100. Even though I had to over crank a little on my shutter I would rather do that than introduce more noise because the sensor is small and already has some noise I definitely don’t want to introduce more if I can help it. This thing needs a good amount of solid light I’m finding to get a clean image .. I hope this helps! Let me know and good luck!
Nice video & tips ... can you tell if the gimble of the mavic air 2 has smooth cinematic move when mobility from normal view to down view for example ? This feature was available on mavic mini but not sure if it is Available on mavic air 2
Great video. I have an issue you may be able to address. I've got the Mavic Air2 and an iPhone. When I click on the "filmstrip" icon right above the red shutter button on the app, I only see two rows of options. There should be four. The first two are the basic, but the last two that allow for more options will not show up. DJI is clueless and unable to explain why. (I was on the phone for over an hour with them, and they gave up.) Any suggestions?
This video was packed with stuff I really needed. Thank you. I have a question: I am learning how to run my MA2 but my first great videos will not play on my 8 year old computers. Now I have to upgrade everything. Who knew? Can you recommend a STARTING point for CPU & Video card? After all, I am a subscriber now!! Thx.
This is very good, I recently purchased a Mavic Air 2 and have no clue where to begin, I would love to do nice videos and practise to capture some good shots and cinematic videos

very useful. thanks for sharing. i play mavic air 2 in hk. i subscribed you already
Thank you 🙏
Great video thank you, what software is best to edit photos and videos?
Hi Devin - do you think DJI will bring a firmware update to reduce sharpness. The oversharpened image is the only negative with the Air 2.
They could.. it would be nice if they gave the option to customize the image profiles a bit more.
Loving all your videos! Very informative. I'm also in NC and just got the MA2 not too long ago. Thanks so much for all the awesome tips. Keep it up.
Thanks you! That’s awesome, happy to share any tips I can 👍
Thanx for the LUTs bro...

I think so! I hope so!

Great content, +1 subscriber!
Thanks! 👊
If I'm not wrong I could adjust the Cinelike profiles (sharpness, etc) on the original Mavic Air. They really abandoned this feature on the Air 2??
Do you know of any reasons the mavic air 2 might be giving me grainy images? settings I've used listed:
Bright sunny day
ISO 100
4k 24 fps
shutter 1/50
ND 64 filter
H.265 codec
D-cinelike
auto white balance
histogram shows everything leveled out in the middle, but I still get grain. Very noticeable in the shadows, but noticable on perfectly lit objects too.
