The chances of Shelton and his coaches suddenly developing the players under them, like Suwinski, is about the same as "enter your favorite trite phrase that comes to mind" Hell, they can't teach basic fundamentals of playing the game. You know, things like base running, moving runners over, catching, the list goes on and on!!!! Then there is the daily lottery of who's playing where on any given day. That really develops players jumping from position to position. Finally, the unbelievable plan that Shelton and Cherrington came up with.... "So you're a catcher and you've played it your entire life > RIGHT FIELD. Top prospect at shortstop. Interesting > CENTER FIELD. All-Star outfielder (maybe not the strongest defensive player but there aren't a whole lot of options on the team) > 1st BASE. We need a relief pitcher, possibly a closer. Let's see... Hey Rowdy get on the mound...."
SERIOUSLY, when are these... I'll be nice, when will we get new leadership? These kids under a different management could be competing IMO.

Let's face it, Jack will figure it out with the right organization. I like Jack for a number of reasons. Hopefully the subtraction of Haines includes the Pirates hitting philosophy as a whole. Jack has natural power and should concentrate on contact because any pitchers mistake is his success. The Pirates hitting philosophy with Haines in charge was a catastrophe for guys like Jack.

Everyone forgets he FLOPPED at Indy last year. At his age he should have figured some things out for himself by now!

Perhaps if we start referring to Jack as the Polish Hammer, he'll hit 28 homers this year?😅

Good pitching only goes so far, if the Pirates can't hit and score consistently, they will lose too many close games.

You can't give up on Suwinski. I'll take my chances with a Suwinski/Yorke platoon.

Pecota is named after Bill Pecota, a former utility infielder for the Kansas City Royals.

Jack Suwinski when he was called up by the organization was easily projectable as a 30+ HR guy his Statcast supported it and he was a prototypical HR guy. However, since the Bucs think they’re a smart organization they made him not play into his strengths and here we are…

Pirates sign Tommy Pham, he's old, he's cheap, no one else wanted him because he sucks, but the Pirates care about winning.

DK, Ben Cherington is not doing his job as if he were on the hot seat. He is betting on himself, and we all get to suffer thru another 76-win season.

Add a Luis Arraez at rf, ss, and 3b, and im doing backflips. They problem isn't power. The problem is that they're bad hitters. Its so strange that them being even worse in obp than HR last yr is just an afterthought in your analysis. They need both things! They're really bad right now!
