  • In Part 13 of the Pasture Project’s video series on fencing, we focus on digital volt meters and fault finders. Both volt meters and fault finders are important tools that can help you properly maintain energized fences and ensure they are working at capacity. Thanks to Kent Solberg (Sustainable Farming Association of MN & Seven Pines Farm and Fence) for his contributions to this video.

When using the Gallagher fence tester you will get an accurate voltage reading if you hold your thumb on the earth terminal

I don't cry often, but the day my daughter came back in the house and said she had lost the gallagher fault finder was one of them. I felt like I lost a old friend haha. Fortunately, unlike a good friend, the fault finder was easily replaced. They need to make one with a GPS tracker though, haha.

A wifi or smart outlet can give remote on/off switching. Modern tech joys.

I've wasted money on the cheap ones but never again.
