@@MillieAdrian I would think it's better to pick one or two platforms and really build it/them up, vs. the scattershot running-yourself-into-the-ground-with-exhaustion approach...especially if someone is doing it on their own, rather than with the help of a team. We only have so much time and life force energy and I tend to lean towards quality (these days) vs. quantity. Would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks!
I agree so much! I love connecting with my audience in real time on Insta, showing parts of my day, getting reactions etc and I feel like that is indeed missing on Tiktok due to the for you page being the focus. I hope they fix that because casual short videos could be a great way to connect 👀

This was great, thanks, Millie! I've definitely been leaning towards RUclips, as a complement to my blog. Although it may take more time, effort, energy, and have a steeper learning curve, I love that content is more evergreen. People have been trying to get me to go to TikTok, but I don't want to promote the culture of mindless scrolling. Love this! I've been focusing on JUST youtube for a couple years & wanted to explore more short-form content apps - was debating between Instagram or Tiktok to see which one to focus on. I didn't think about the Tiktok point you made (that it defaults to the For You Page instead of the Following page) & how Instagram has more of a way to reach (DMs, calls, etc). Binge-watching the rest of your instagram videos now!

I am exhausted, I am following your advice to post everyday on Shorts, I am throwing spaghetti on the wall and see how I can reach good posts on my niche. I also opened tiktok , I was on FB and IG and also Pinteret and have been posting everyday from the 4th of May and I am exhausted. Do you any metrics for the demographics - specifically age and location - for the apps? For example, there are a billion users on TT, but are those 13-25 y/o? Or, do particular styles of videos get consumed better on particular app - like i wouldn't search for music vids on IG?

well I got banned from tiktok for posting 5 star wars edits. for no reason and I cant make a new account at all. So Instagram.
Why not just crosspost?
Wrong analysis on the subscribers number as well as maturity of tools. While TikTok started with short videos way back in 2017. RUclips shorts and IG reels was later. Btw twitter Vine was the first mover but could not sustain like Orkut. Bit of unbiased researched needed
