Fieldsports Britain - Pigeons with airguns and rabbit hunting

- Опубликовано: 4 авг 2024
- It's where to shoot a pigeon this week - and how hard to hit a rabbit. Roy Lupton is looking at what it takes to kill pigeons with an airgun - with the aid of tent pegs and his trusty Webley airgun, he is conducting a terminal ballistics test on where to shoot them. As for rabbits, we are back in the home of rabbit control, Australia, to look at the latest .22 rounds from Winchester - the new 42-grain subsonic (good for foxes, they say) and the .22 Powerpoint. That's not all. We've got News Stump, Hunting RUclips and Hallo Charlie. We hope you will walk away from this programme knowing a lot more about shooting. In the meantime, pour yourself a glass, sit back and enjoy the greatest show in shooting. Plus! How to win a shooting truck!

It's good to see Roy testing the Airgun pellets. It's really good information to know.
Great episode, I didn't rate the Winchester part but Roy's air rifle bit was great especially for the airguners amongst us !
where did you get the geletine from?
Thank you Roy very educational video
In the mag it says it closes on at 23:59 on the 11/06/13.
Very educational, thanks.
Great show again lads, ignore the buffoons!
Amazing I looked at the website last night and no mention of the competition and low and behold it suddenly takes front and centre today Very Strange
I thought the competition finished on the 1st of June? So Why are you saying there is another week?
great vid, what airgun is Roy using?
For the pigeon at the start a Webley raider
I want an fac airgun what do i do?
thanks for the info roy good to know where to hit
Very late on this vid but neck shots seem to be better in my opinion; where the bottom of the pigeon's neck is thick, even when it is standing to the side and bobbing its head, the bottom of the neck doesn't move very much plus a shot there seems to disrupt their ability to fly off and they usually die within 2 or 3 seconds at the absolute extreme
"A new round for rabbits on the market: but does it do its job?"
If the round he's referring to is the Winchester 42g non-jacketed subsonic...it most definitely does its job. I've been using it for 2 years now and cleaned up just over 100 bunnies with them on 25 acres.
Not to be pedantic about this but I have a magazine and it says 1st June. Go to their website and I defy anybody to easily find out about this AMAZING COMPETITION I am still looking!
Great episode, not to bothered about thw
kinda agree!
In world war: pigeon are heros!!!!
In modern day: *RaTs*
They should do some 'How To' vids showing us urban folk how we can get into things like shooting and ferreting, because it's not something you see advertised, it's like you have to belong to some kind of clique. A lot of farmers are crying out for people to come onto their land and hunt pigeons and rabbits, which destroy crops, and corvids, which can even kill young livestock. How would one go about learning these things?. I would love to learn to shoot, but there doesn't seem any 'doors in'.
join a club go to gun shops
1:54 hi
4 minute mark in the vid...
I think it might be time to drop "Hunting RUclips"- there's rarely anything on it that people are really going to be interested in looking up, and it only really repeats "Hallo Charlie" How about a bit of summer mink hunting? Haven't had any hounds on for ages! Just my twopennorth...
menuda sangría has hecho con el pigeon colega jajajaj
For everyone that wants to say Melbourne, it is pronounced Mel-ben.

Any chance of something that is not a how-to-do or an advertising feature? Of course adverts are a necessary evil and often such informative videos are of high demand, but I miss the days of Gilchrist, Crow or Digweed shooting for the fun of it, not just to try out a new gun or cartridge. Keep the good work up anyway
