    You have really explained with intricate details of making idli batter.Even after 30 years of marriage I was never satisfied with my idli preparation but yesterday it came out so well.Now I hv learnt the actual trick of making good idli
    Plz do guide while making idli in normal cooker.While making idli the lower plates of idli forms a depression and sometimes may be due to oil application yellow colour s seen on the bottom of the idli. I seek your advise on this. Once again thank you very much for this wonderful guidance

    I made this yesterday using 1 urad round dal measure with 3.5 measures of Salem rice. I think the little tips that you have shared matter a lot because the idlis came out much better than what I make normally. Thank you.

    Superb explanation of how to make good idly batter and soft idly. Every tip was so useful and no new beginner can go wrong. My me.ories went back of how I was taught to make good idles. Tips from my mom and mother in law. Very useful for next generation to learn this art of making idly. Thank-you ma'am.

    Mam nan idli maavu araikum pothu konjam venthayam add panuven appa than dosai mavagavum athai use panna mudyum dosai venthayam potta than sevakuthu... ana venthayam potta idli color nalla iruka matenguthu.. ithuku oru idea sollungalen... two in one maavu ku oru tip sollungalen... pls say in next video mam

    Thanks amma for showing the procedure step by step...one doubt I usually wash the rice and urad dal 4 to 5 times before soaking and grind it with that soaked water only is this oki pls let me know

    Do you use a different batter for dossa?
    How long does the rice need to be in the grinder?
    If so, what’s the difference between the two that needs to be done?
    I am sorry if this sounds crazy and/or dumb, but I never used clothes for idli before so I was wondering how you go about doing the next batches and so on. I am sure you have others, but do you have to wash in between each batches?
    I am sorry for asking so many questions.

    Ulundhu paathi alavuku mixie la oru adi adichittu grinder la potu as usual araicha ulundhu chattunu 10mins la araichidalam. Ulundhu maavum alavu koraiyala Amma. Idly nalla tha iruku.

    Hi ma! How are you? My mom used to add 1 to 2 tea spoon fenugreek to urad dal when soaking. You didn’t add.Is fenugreek helps urad dal to become fluffy or not?

    Ma'am did you add vendhiyam, Ulundhu also soaked for same timing as rice soaked? Thanks for a detailed video ma'am.

      Preethi Jothish vendhayam thevai illai if ulundhu is good, ulundhu 1-1.5 hrs soak pannina pothum, rice 6hrs if using tabletop grinders

    சில வகை உளுந்து நல்லா பொங்கி வரும். அப்போ உளுந்து கொஞ்சம் குறைத்து போட வேண்டும். எங்க ஊர் பக்கம் நல்ல உளுந்தம் பருப்பாக இருப்பதால் கம்மி யாகத்தான் போடுவோம்

    How long should the rice and head dal be soaked ?

      Rice about 3 hrs and ulunthu only 1 hr is enough and you can add javvarisi for softness.

    Amma, I’m making idli in pressure cooker. It takes 15 to 20 mins to cook. If it is less than this time it is under cooked Ma. Is it the natural to cooker to take so Long Ma ??
