Had the honor of spending some time on a Royal Canadian destroyer in Halifax and also doing ops with them. What a great group of men and women, to work with. We also hosted some of them over on our Frigate.

FYI, Canada had the third largest navy in the world at the end of World War 2 -- right behind the USA and the UK. Canada had 434 commissioned warships in service.

2 light cruisers, 3 merchant cruisers, few aircraft carriers on the way. They even had 2-3 captured German Uboats to play with. It was neat at the end of WW2 if you consider ship types. Cool stuff to learn about.

No offense but the only reason America spends so much money on their military is because they use it more. We don't really use our stuff because most of the Canadian military fights along side America so we use their equipment not Canada.

ESF2007 Pacific: That’s argumentative. My observation was when a RCAF Squadron was on detachment to Miramar in San Diego. I met many of then during a weekend barbecue and everyone in the squadron ended a sentence with EH. I Have never heard Americans end their sentence with EH.

Nah, that's hardly a warship. That's a destroyer. Those are the boats you send out first - better to lose a ship of 250 over a battleship with 6,000. 21 men to a room? That's ridiculous. Only submarines are supposed to be that crowded..

PT it's a frigate and nobody uses battleships. That frigate could take out a battleship. Battleships are WW2 technology

No doubt Canadian ships will offer asylum and sanctuary to any hostile ship before engaging.

haha dont get all butthurt. It looks way more like a "home" than a ship. Any improvement to quality of life is key. I'd do anything to skype my family during deployment. On my last deployment that was almost 10 months long, we werent even allowed to use our own personal bed sheets. When they did berthing inspections, the standard issued sheets had to be on the bed. No Facebook access unless at port, sailor phones were expensive and quality was crap.
