    I love this. Your explanation and walkthrough is fantastic. I have trouble going in and out of focus during a journey (random thoughts throughout the day, or even the scenario changing from seeing a guide and speaking with them to some made-up scenario between my friends or teacher and I. My teacher is a shamanic healer and he does very well, but I find your explanation in this video is much more accepted by my logical psyche.
    Thank you so much. 🙏

    I like what you are saying. But even more importantly, I like the energy you exude.
    Interesting how you describe your own way to relax your body: melting into the floor.
    I will remember that one. Feels like it might work for me, too.
    I have been highly fascinated by the psoas muscle, and "melting" or softening is exactly what that muscle needs.
    During shamanic practice, but also "outside" that practice.
    I also like laying down better than sitting up straight.

    Is it possible to be initiated into shamanism during your first shamanic experience? I had not intended on having a shamanic experience..but that's exactly what happened.
    I have made many connections to shamanism throughout my path/unfoldment
    I had a specific meditation through a devout self loving practice I was working on..I unfolded into a realm upon realm upon realm and was unfolding. Not a pathway..clearly unfolding translucent energy.
    I was guided to a tree by 2 other people and on the tree sat all types of animals. I instantly knew these animals were my teachers and I knew they would be there for guidance.
    I don't know who the guides were but they were expecting me.

    • @anthonylekas7526

      Your not Initiated yet you have to learn everything before that happens even when dealing with the spirits.I personally work with the deceased as tech shaman and his entire tribe but you have to learn everything and experience everything before you can be a shaman in the sense because you need that experience to take it outside of your inner world If that makes sense

      As you gain experience in non-ordinary reality, other aspects of the way you access it will likely change, as well. Remember: there is no "normal." There is how you do journeys, dreaming, etc. Trying to have a "normal" experience is limiting.

    I thought these worlds are supposed to manifest in your mind through altered state (drumming) . You're saying to create your own world through your imagination using creative visualization and then explore them?

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  2 года назад

      You can plan the journey, but the journey experience happens in a light trance state. Rhythmical drumming is most common and the method I speak about throughout. But there are others.

    • @deltafour1212
      @deltafour1212 2 года назад

      @@GerryStarnes I understand the intention and imagine a place to enter the worlds but once the drumming starts do you still create or visualize the world your going to or does it manifest in your mind as you fall into a trance like state from the drumming?

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  2 года назад

      @@deltafour1212 You can set an intention about where you might want to go. However, the journey will take you where your intention might better be served. That said, the "Three Worlds" are a construct. After a couple of decades, I see the Worlds more like training wheels to give beginners some structure. In the end, though, they are just constructs. I now work mostly with the idea of Otherworld... so there is our ordinary reality (this world) and non-ordinary reality (Otherworld).

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  5 лет назад +7

      Certainly not wanting to argue with Harner. I reference what I have been taught and what works for me and everyone else in my circles. Frankly, beats that slow put me to sleep. 160-240 puts the brain in a Theta state, according to studies. So, I guess it depends on what you are wanting to experience. There is no "right" or "perfect" rhythm.

    • @frankie7275
      @frankie7275 5 лет назад

      @@GerryStarnes Makes sense. Have been falling asleep to 120bpm drumming. Thought was doing something wrong. One more; Ingerman suggested her Journeys are more Clairaudient than visual. How do we meet our Guide, if Journeying is not like a visual movie? Practically speaking, one has to visualize the tunnel, enter the tunnel, then switch over to clairaudience to meet Spirit Animal?

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  5 лет назад +4

      @@frankie7275 Not everyone is visual. Talking about the journey in visual terms is simply the most convenient and accessible way to talk about it. Some people see, others "feel" what is happening. Others hear; some just "know." Everyone is different. Going down a tunnel is one way. "Shamanism, as it should be lived, is the embracing of the many by the one. Shamanism today is the one asking for assistance and allies from the many. It tries to control the many." - Almine

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  6 лет назад +7

      With all due respect to Almine, the term "Shamanism today" is a broad generalization. It's a nice quote, but wrong in application to individuals. The shamanic practices that I follow have nothing at all to do with trying to control anything. On the contrary, if you view my videos and read my publications, you will find that they are about aligning my life with Spirit, not trying to control or manipulate it.

    • @MrZayne8
      @MrZayne8 6 лет назад

      Gerry Starnes Greetings Gerry,
      I typed some comments that did not make it in the post along with the Almine quote. You are correct. The quote is general but was, I think, meant to describe a prevailing theme in the egocentricism-dominant landscape of current collective conciousness that blocks a deeper attunement with the unseen forces. The proof is in the proverbial pudding, however, and the truth is indeed found from individual to individual as quite often the collective perspective is the result of subtle and overt manipulation by the darker powers that be. There are always those who will operate from the light of spirit.
      I am a relatively fresh student of Shamanism in this life after a spiritual awakening catapulted me to greater inward depths and am studying it from a multitude of angles. I have enjoyed those of your videos that I have watched thus far, as they ultimately aid in shaping perspective.

    • @MrZayne8
      @MrZayne8 6 лет назад +2

      From the Almine quote, the great value I derived from it was in the discernment between control orientation and true oneness. That there is no "greater-than" or "less-than". That we are all connected. The animal kingdom, the flora kingdom and the mineral kingdom. All different......but all one. Flowing into and through each other.

    Ok is it just me or i am having serious issues with falling asleep whilst deep meditating or journeying. I get images of animals in my mind and fall asleep with them. Even spider who im scared of / shadow animal. Is it normal to fall asleep at first? Am i just very un disciplined? like i feel i can get such a good sleep after but its meaning im not getting far lol

    • @GerryStarnes
      @GerryStarnes  6 лет назад +1

      Some people do fall asleep. If that is happening often, try sitting up. You can still fall asleep, but you will also fall over. In either case, it's likely that Spirit is still working with you... just that you are unaware of what it is doing. Sometimes that's Spirit's way of keeping your Mind out of the process. Or you could just be tired...

      Gerry Starnes i do suffer chronic fatigue fibromyalgia and what put me on shamanic journey to heal myself. I have cptds so trying to collect soul fragments. I believe ive been successful so far but as soon as i get one spirit shows me another and another its gone on for so long! I cant have much left of that work to do. But my body requires alot of sleep and intergration work. I got attuned to reiki before i got ill and i believe trying to heal others before i had done any work on myself was a mistake. Ive since spent decade doing so. I have never met a shaman before but alot of spiritual healers have not been able to do this kind of work successfully. I will do sitting up and just lay down to meditate where falling asleep is good. Im sure my guides and spirit animals work on me whilst asleep. I always feel good after. I'm not a fan of "supposed to." What happens is what happens. Dreaming and journeying are not that different. Both are doorways to non-ordinary reality. For me, journeying is more interactive, but that doesn't discount dreaming as in any way inferior.
