Great. About time this was discussed! Medication simply does not work. In fact psychotropic drugs cause appalling long term health issues. I personally rejected the medical model of care after becoming sicker on the drugs. It is quite simply a lie that people will be mentally ill for life. Although those that choose to remain on the drugs will remain sick. A huge problem with psychiatry at the moment, is the lack of help for people who wish to come of the drugs. This is definitely not encouraged. One is told that the illness will return if the drugs are stopped. No one seems to care how sick an individual is on these drugs. I was on my own in withdrawing from some serious medication. This was the worst experience I have ever been through frankly. I am very proud to say I have not touched psychotropic drugs in three years. It took two years to take myself slowly off several drugs. It wasn't easy! Withdrawal from these drugs is terrible. I should add that good nutrition is vital for recovery. A change in diet made a huge difference.
I agree with many of these, about owened expertise and not adding unecessary treatments, but he takes it too far at some points against the medical model, as that has its uses too.

Brilliant! Thank you Sami, and thank you PAVO for uploading.
These are very touchy subjects, irs very individual, and it's dangerous to consider one size fits all

This is not a new idea. Psychiatry is a lost cause.
People like just discovered this just last year.
