Chris Harris introduces The Leonard Collection from Collecting Cars

- With an obsessive focus on quality and originality, The Leonard Collection includes one of the most impressive assemblies of modern Porsche road cars, featuring some of the rarest ‘Rennsport’ models. Among its stars are also classic models, such a remarkable 911 Carrera 2.7 RS - formerly owned by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai - and a legendary Carrera 3.2 Club Sport with around 6,000 miles from new. Other air-cooled icons include an astonishing delivery-mileage 964 Carrera RS, which is likely unrepeatable; and a 993 Carrera RS, a fine example of one of the all-time great driver’s cars.
The trend of exceptionally rare cars continues with a 996 GT3 RS (one of 682 built, and with only 3,500 miles from new), a 997 Speedster (one of 356) and a 997 Sport Classic with the iconic ‘ducktail’ spoiler (one of just 250). Another key highlight is an original German-delivery Porsche Carrera GT, with just over 4,000 miles and believed to be one of only 89 in Fayence Yellow.
Beyond Stuttgart’s finest, The Leonard Collection features other contemporary performance heroes. Track-focused Ferraris are represented by the 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia, and there are even two examples of the pinnacle of the flat-12: the F512 M. North America is represented by a former Evo Car of the Year, the Ford GT, and the BMW marque is featured with a glamourous BMW Z8 and a superb E28-era M5 saloon. I really really REALLY wish Chris Harris still did his own car reviews on a consistent basis. Man I love this guy
and yet the guy had to get counciling after taking torrents of abuse when he started to work on topgear.

Well here’s the thing, top gear shouldn’t have been touched again. Chris’ pieces with Neil that he puts out every now and again, completely shit on his top gear pieces. I do hope he’s being well compensated by bbc BUT I wish he just stayed on the internet and the BBC just killed top gear. I don’t like top gears chris Harris character, he will always be best in videos like this and CHOC.

Exactly. These are machines engineered to deliver the ultimate driving pleasure, but their potential is not being used. To use an analogy - what is a musical instrument good for, if it isn't being played?
It's not like I can afford to have a parked Porsche or a driven one but I totally agree. Porsches for me look better used, the beauty of the new or low milage ones is their potencial to be driven and enjoyed, unfortunately like a lot of great things these days their value susperceeds their owners desire to drive them and they end up falling into the investement catagory. I always think, If we were all able to look into the far future we would see that all these cars will one day ceast to exist so why not use and enjoy them whilst you can? Although in England these days driving on public roads is torture so I probably wouldn't use them either....

Thing is, once a car has got to a certain age without accruing many miles, nobody is then brave enough to drive it. Like owning an unopened vintage wine, who is going to be the one to buy it and actually drink it?!

I never expected him to show this stuff to the public but it makes sense if they are going on collecting cars.
I struggle to think of anything I like more in the "car genre" than videos of this chap looking at car collections. There's another one - arguably even better where he looks at BMWs etc.

3:30 Who ever gonna drive this car in the future please have a look at the front left break disc. Cracks between holes are kind of "ok" but if the cracks starts from the inner to one of the middle holes, I would suggest to get a set of new discs. In general: what a stunning Collection! Thank you for showing us this!

Not really, I would never buy a car to not fully enjoy it but I also couldn't care less if other do or don't. Actually pretty stunning to see new 30 yo cars.

As a 996 Turbo owner I feel snubbed but also wish we'd had a closer look at the 997 Sport Classic.
Damian from The Carguys was here on his Scotland drive, he posted it a few weeks ago, so it all adds up now, knowing that he’s a huge Collecting Cars fan :D

I'm not a Porsche guy, although I do respect them because they're fantastic cars. I think the thing that gets me the most is that the Carrera styling through the years is just so evolutionary. They're All SO SIMILAR. The whole time Chris Harris was popping off all the different names I was thinking, "how the hell can you tell them apart?"
