So as you may know I voice Cyn/Absolute Solver in Murder Drones by Glitch Productions! (very cool, go watch) And alot of people didn't actually knew she had a voice actor, and rather people thought she had an AI voice! So I put this together to compare the RAW files vs the final edits in the actual episode :) Tee hee, they made my voice higher
I’m pretty sure it’s because she can’t mimic stuff like the other drones do, because cyn is only a host for the solver, the solver itself isn’t really a drone, im pretty sure. So she has trouble doing things like that. Like when she says “Light sip”
It is very surprising to me that Cyn was not voiced by a vocaloid. Considering the very GLaDOS-like diction and delivery, one would assume computer production.
Glad that she has an actual voice actor. It's nice when this kind of artistry goes to a voice actor who knows what they're doing, and not just pushed off onto AI.

I'm not really surprised with Cyn to have a voice actor because Glados from Portals was voiced by a human voice actor so it's not really too far-fetched.
Its great to see the contrast of raw VA work compared to the post production final results. Help appreciate the work Allanah put in and the nice additions the editors added. Added benefit of making me feel better about my raw voice lines too.
You could probably make it into a game or quiz where people try to guess which ones are the edited version and which ones are raw (might have to add or remove other sounds/music though)
What an amazing thing to hear. Putting so much "soul" into a natural voice it becomes an authentic robotic voice. Beautiful. It almost sounds ironic in an way. Beautifuly ironic.
One detail I liked about Cyn is that in the bedroom scene, even when she’s that horrifying monster thing, she still readjusts her head like how we saw her do when she was just a normal drone.

When the only additions were a pitch change(and a very slight one at that), some reverb, and a bit of wobble, you know you have a knack for voice acting. I would say the raw cut sounded MORE like an actual text to speech robot than the final cut, which is only mildly terrifying.
The whole time I thought Cyn/Absolute Solver was voiced by a text-to-speech software, but no, she was voiced by a real actress that literally *NAILED IT* with doing a text-to-speech sounding voice! I'm very impressed by this!

This reminds me of when I discovered Scott Adsit's voice was barely edited for Baymax in Big Hero 6 in the best way possible. I always figured it was a human VA because of GLaDoS and Baymax, so what really impresses me is how you still replicated the robotic echo in just your regular voice with the edit just adding in some extra effects to sound even more robotic. Heck, just your raw voice would have still worked perfectly and that goes to show what an amazing job you did with Cyn!

Late as can be at this point, but I love how the only thing they changed at all was just giving her a more robotic effect to match the fact that she *is* a robot, as well as a couple glitches mid-sentence. Otherwise, your voice in the final product doesn't seem very edited. It's literally just talent.

I'm not surprised that there's a real person behind Cyn's voice. What does surprise me is that there was no retouching from recording to post-production to get that robotic voice and for that, it deserves applause 👏👏
When Cyn said "You didn't have to see this." it honestly gave me chills. It is by far the most terrifying line in the entire show, and the delivery was absolutely crucial to that fact. You did an OUTSTANDING job with this voice! That line in particular got to me because it says "You may have thought your choices were stand by and do nothing, or act to help the others. You are wrong. Your choices were hear it from your room, or watch it happen yourself." It speaks of utter powerlessness, and the fact that the voice lowers so much for that one line really makes it feel sinister and impactful. I heard the voice was done by a human, and I believed it, but never in a MILLION years would I have guessed that it was so unedited! I guessed they had someone reading out the lines and added a bunch of cutting and autotune to make it sound robotic. Maybe using four or five samples in a sentence. You have 100% earned my sub!
I got goosebumps even listening to raw... Actually if someone just showed me raws and told me that that it was un-edited, I think I wouldn't believed it - though I'm working with vocoders and autotune plugins often and should hear the difference, so... That's just... Wow :) My respects to you, it's truly amazing work!
