Nice review ! I got one last week. It is a european SKU with the i5, 16gigs of ram and 512gigs of an OEM samsung 860 pro (yes, a 100€ ultrafast SSD) who cost 1100€ tax included. I bought it for coding because of the high res 16/10 screen and the very good keyboard. I am very precise and fast on that keyboard. Regarding the performance, my unit is different from yours. I don't know if it is a software thing, but my overall multicore results are a bit lower than yours. I've never seen the TDP go above 28w. Maybe yours exceed that by a bit. My unit never go above 85celcius either and even at "high performance" it is not too loud. So, i guess the latest bios or drivers traded power for noise and temps. For instance, i score 8500 multicore on CB R23 and 7300 on geekbench 5 multicore. Once thing that really pisses me off is my unit really underperform in the graphics side. I got a last gen yoga who sustain 1300mhz and 12w for the XEgraphics 80UC. This one only sustain 1000mhz and 6 to 7w ! I hope this is a bug. When i play world of warcraft, the CPU uses around 17w but the GPU still uses 6 to 7w ! We are well bellow the 28w TDP. The yoga is flexing at higher res + higher graphics + higher FPS, all at the same time... Ouch ! Asus, please, fix that ! BTW, what bios do you use ? Have you updated it ? I am using the 304.
I write software as well and the keyboard layout is my main concern when choosing a new notebook. I had zeroed in on this model and your comment just about ratified my decision. Thank you
I only wish Asus swapped sides of the I/O ports and included a second fan as in the Space Edition. As for Intel, It's disappointing this doesn't sport the new Arc gpu architecture. Iris Xe sucks

You keep saying that you can’t upgrade it “as the user.” Does that mean you could take it to a repair shop and have them remove the 8gb ram resolder more ram? Or is there no way to upgrade it at all?
I got the 14, 1 because of the slightly bigger screen and 2 because I needed the 16Gb of Ram, but I'm not really into the blue colour, I wanted the black on the 13 inch model, with 16Gb Ram but it wasn't available, love the 14 laptop just wish it had been in black
How is the heat/fan noise on whisper mode when just browsing or watching youtube videos? Looking at this for the OLED screen but I'd also like something I could use on my lap or set on the bed for a few minutes without it torching itself.

Iris Xe sucks
is there a temperature problem
Do you think this computer is nice for coding? I’m use for coding and design software too
As expect, well done!
Would you choose this over the M1 Macbook Air? You can get the mac for $799 now
Yup
Thanks.
Are you going to review um3402? I guess it will be more colder and quieter. It’s important for this laptops
I am hoping to review it.
@@andrewmarcdavid I hope you do and compare it to this one!!
What do you think about version with Ryzen 7 5825U?
Is this good for the eyes with OLED display?
Great review. Thanks
difference between UX3402ZA-KN278W and - UX3402ZA-KM216W?
Hi Andrew, do this laptop has touchscreen??
so intel 1240p or slighty cheaper R5 5625U? I read the battery will last longer on AMD
I got this laptop over the holidays for $550 at BestBuy
Nice!
I wanted to use your affiliate link to buy one so ypud get ur kickback, but cannot find a 16 GB ram version anywhere on any site. I remember checking when this video first came out and couldn't find anything then either. idk why,. Asus advertises 16gb on their site page but doesnt seem to actually make the 16gb or sell it....
I just got one yesterday it’s really good but be aware it does get hot
Do you have any issues with bluetooth earphone connection?.
Hot and loud fan in standard mode is so bad i dont know what i can do to silent that fan 😢
USB a port, so it's better that dell xps.
Does a higher ram decrease battery duration?
How is this different from ASUS Zenbook 14x OLED (UX3404)
is it good for 4k video editing ( moderate to high level ) ??? * even it doesn't have discrete gpu !
Not good for 4K video editing
Is display as good as it sounds? Is it better than 9i? 9i only ships with 1080 display for now.
Display is excellent
$500 at Best Buy right now!
Thx. I see the newer version with Ryzen 5825u. What do you think about this processor?
I think it'll be slightly worse than the newer 12th gen i5, but I think you'll get better battery life cuz it's on a 7nm process
@@nottsoserious What do you think about the IGPU difference?
Awesome review!
wonder if you can cram a 4TB NVME in there?
Just got this laptop yesterday, its lovely although now I've bought it I do worry about screen burn as its Oled, but I am very happy with it overall, if I had one complaint it would be the sound, even my daughter said it sounds a little distorted and maybe too basey, can't find any equaliser settings to change that, if anyone know where they are or have similar issues please let me know, cheers Alan
Thanks for sharing
Do you have any issues with bluetooth earphone connection?
@@sharkr3283 actually the sound is fine, there are some quite detailed audio settings and all is good, Bluetooth works perfectly
@@andrewmarcdavid all good, just have to dig into the vast settings, all sounds great now
Just bought this. It’s hard to find cases for it & I can’t seem to find any??? Any suggestions?
is it available in Europe?
if so where to buy?
Does it play Netflix in HDR? I've read elsewhere it doesn't which us a bummer of true.
Needs an AMD 6800u in there what a shame ....
This one or Lenovo carbon yoga?
This or the new MacBook Air M2?
I will be reviewing the MacBook Air M2 so we can get a comparison at that time.
You keep saying that you can’t upgrade it “as the user.” Does that mean you could take it to a repair shop and have them remove the 8gb ram resolder more ram? Or is there no way to upgrade it at all?
No way to upgrade it at all
@@andrewmarcdavid ah, thanks
How much worse would the battery life be with an i7 12gen?..
is the 8gb ram version worth it? i cant find the 16 gb version in mexico
I just wanna ask. Which one do you prefer, s13 oled or this(14 oled)?
I got the 14, 1 because of the slightly bigger screen and 2 because I needed the 16Gb of Ram, but I'm not really into the blue colour, I wanted the black on the 13 inch model, with 16Gb Ram but it wasn't available, love the 14 laptop just wish it had been in black
Does this laptop have a screen door effect when looking at the screen up close with a blank white screen?
is it touch screen?
Really interested in buying this if it were available here in Europe.
it is available in many countries.
@@nomoshiti I haven't seen one for sale here in the Netherlands.
i really hate how they prevent you from upgrading ram yourself so you have to buy a more expensive model (if you found it)
Great video 👏
How is the heat/fan noise on whisper mode when just browsing or watching youtube videos? Looking at this for the OLED screen but I'd also like something I could use on my lap or set on the bed for a few minutes without it torching itself.
Gets hot is whisper mode. Normal mode is still quiet
I have the 16GB/512GB model in the UK. Comes with touch screen and no num pad. Bought from amazon UK for £750, Intel i5 1240p
I really like it but I wish we had amd 6800u for better battery life. I can live with the P series from intel tough. What really kills it for me is no 32gb ram options. I can't understand that.
Btw... Fantastic review
Lenovo Thinkpad T14s G3 has 6800U, 32GB RAM, and OLED. I guess that's what you want?

Hi, This model have amp tech 3.5x louder ?
this man has three first names
I really want this model. Not sure if Asus will be selling it in the UK 🤷🏻♂️
Also I have finally contacted the Asus’s customer service team and apparently that laptop is not for sale at the moment or it may not be sold in the UK 😂😂😂
I mean why are Asus displaying laptops that are not on for sale 🤪😂
I have been on Lenovo’s, Dell’s and HP’s website and they all are displaying laptops that are on for sale but Asus… FFS 🤦🏻♂️ 🤣
@@vhira As you say it is now displayed on the Asus UK website as is the Zenbook 13 S OLED which has had great reviews but neither available now or perhaps in future? Odd web-store they run! US prices always seem so cheap but a real downer when checking UK sites.
