I keep the screen at 60 hz and luminosity at around 60% but i'm getting about 5-6h of battery life watching videos on youtube, web browsing and a little bit of word processing. Thanks for the Great review. This is truly an EXCELLENT value for $750! I think the port selection is very reasonable. Love the fact that it includes a SD card slot. With that said I always have a wish list. My wish lists for this system would be the option to use the AMD 6000 chipset (with RDNA-2 integrated graphics) option with USB-4 and a larger battery and a matte display option. I don't think any of these wish list items would add to the material cost of the system and it may help with thermal issues (warm temps) and improved battery life.
If you speak with Asus rep ask them if they have any specific plans to support the AMD 6000 with this laptop. Enquiring minds want to know. 😉

Hello again Andrew! I’m considering this laptop cause I have to change mine (it’s an old asus bought 12 years ago and for all this time it did a good job, but the time has come) with the specs i7/1TB, but I’m a little worried about some things. I was checking around these months, and I’ve come to read about the burn-in problems of the OLED screens; do you think it could become a problem on this laptop too? Also, I checked out the new lenovo yoga slim 7i (with the same specs) but here in Italy they say lenovo isn’t as good as asus and it won’t last long, from your experience what do you think? Last but not least, yoga 7i has also the IPS option, better the IPS one or the OLED one? Thanks again Andrew, you reviews are just great 🙏🏼

Regarding burn in, Asus has a software running in the background to shift the pixels a little (not visible) at certain intervals to curb this problem. But OLED on laptops are still rather new so there’s no way to know the long term effects. But I would think it could still last a few years?

Nice review ! I got one last week. It is a european SKU with the i5, 16gigs of ram and 512gigs of an OEM samsung 860 pro (yes, a 100€ ultrafast SSD) who cost 1100€ tax included. I bought it for coding because of the high res 16/10 screen and the very good keyboard. I am very precise and fast on that keyboard.
Regarding the performance, my unit is different from yours. I don't know if it is a software thing, but my overall multicore results are a bit lower than yours. I've never seen the TDP go above 28w. Maybe yours exceed that by a bit. My unit never go above 85celcius either and even at "high performance" it is not too loud. So, i guess the latest bios or drivers traded power for noise and temps.
For instance, i score 8500 multicore on CB R23 and 7300 on geekbench 5 multicore.
Once thing that really pisses me off is my unit really underperform in the graphics side. I got a last gen yoga who sustain 1300mhz and 12w for the XEgraphics 80UC. This one only sustain 1000mhz and 6 to 7w ! I hope this is a bug. When i play world of warcraft, the CPU uses around 17w but the GPU still uses 6 to 7w ! We are well bellow the 28w TDP. The yoga is flexing at higher res + higher graphics + higher FPS, all at the same time... Ouch ! Asus, please, fix that !
BTW, what bios do you use ? Have you updated it ? I am using the 304.
