I've left my ex-boyfriend a year ago - but I am still hurting deeply and hoping for him to change. But every single time he disappoints me by just ignoring me again. He is an addict and after trying to help him I realized that you can love a person all you want, you cannot fix or heal them. The whole relationship scarred me and traumatized me. It's hard to let go when you love someone, it's hard to let go of someone when you feel you have to protect them. I've been "homeschooled" (aka no school) for years because of chronic illness, haven't talked to anyone outside of family for months, watched as my friends tried or did commit suicide.. Even then, somehow I feel now that things will be alright, even if all my family disowns me when I start transitioning, I know I'll still survive. It gets better, y'all.

In my case, I decided to take my education into my own hands and plan my own classes, accommodating for my frequent episodes of being super sick and not beating myself up over it. I think that's given me a lot more confidence because I'm pretty much finding any resources I'd ever need to learn online without any help. I don't see my friends, but we text often, it's not the same but I've gotten used to being alone. It's nice and quiet and I can stare at the sky in peace. As for friends dying though, I guess that never leaves you because it keeps me up at night, plus thinking about how it could happen to literally anyone else. At some point though, you've just got to keep going. They wouldn't want me to wallow in sadness, they'd want to watch me achieve all my dreams. We'll all die someday, they went early, but we'll all join them someday
