Old school maple was even more cumbersome. Because there was no auction house, cost comparison was a huge headache when you want to play optimally, not to mention the quest progression system that HEAVILY relies on players. For example, 1. Scrolling : do I buy a bunch of base equips and scroll them with trash 10% scrolls, or do I buy a decently scrolled one and try the rest with 60%, or should I just buy a secondhand? Every decision depends on the prices of the base equips and the scrolls which fluctuate minute by minute. 2. Leveling : which leech places are available right now? at what rate? Or should I just go PQ? are there even people who wanna PQ at the place that I have to drag my ass across the continent right now? 3. Getting crucial skills for your class : Oh you wanna have fun? how about you go find a specific group of people with the same interests as you and go do some PQ first? or maybe go hunt a popular map boss that you can't beat by yourself in a reasonable timeframe, and is probably being camped by every top player group in every channel? 4. Bossing : You wanna do some bosses? How about no, because your class doesn't have a cheese strat that lets you solo the bosses you want. You still insist? how about you leech your way from level 1 to 200 while wearing extremely specific and expensive just to get a bit more HP so you don't die to everything in one hit? Oh you mess up one step? too bad, start over! In modern maple, it takes a LOT less to have fun. You can start bossing and mowing down mobs 3 hours into the game, which would take YEARS in old school maple. You can do everything by yourself by following step 1-2-3, there's guides everywhere imaginable, no need to micromanage social lives of people you've never even met irl. I'd rather quit my job and go do manual labor in 3rd world countries than playing old school MS again.

FANTASTIC video as always, I always love watching people make new accounts and not using any link skills or legion buffs because I think it’s more accurate and easy to follow for new/returning old school players. :)
omg! You actually listened! I always wanted a Brand New Account guide for the recent maple, and you delivered! Thank you so much! I'll be following how you do things! It would be even better if there's like a Word Doc or Excel Sheets step-by-step of what you're doing.
Love the content man! I created a new account after 15 years from watching your videos, so nostalgic, but I feel so overwhelmed with it all there's so much new information to know 🤯
A tip for new or returning players if you're lurking in the comments: You can save big meso by farming, cubing, and starforcing Hilla gear set to Epic and 10* respectively and later transfer hammer those to Von Leon Gear. These sets also has a much higher chance to roll really good flames early on compared to Pensalir drops. Might take a couple days but IMO it's well worth it if you're a very casual player.
I appreciate that you included the time it took to get where you are in real time like "after 4 days". If you could include the in-game hours it would be great to compare.
coppersan, thank you so much lol. I've been playing this game since arround 14 years but i wasn't paying too much attention to grinding or other stuff, i just got there to have a fun time with friends. After the reboot server came i tried it and hooked up inmediately. I'm grinding for months with other characters trying to make legion and link skills but you're already with 1 character after few days are doing 5 mill per line that's crazy lol. This stuff is great, this is what i was looking for to get my characters stronger since i dont have enough time to play. thanks !!
Super in depth video! Im really excited to see how you go beyond the bosses and make the jump to CRA. I always get stuck not doing enough damg past 200 on reboot
I love all your videos and I wish this came out before I had just started a new account! (however, I am still waiting for the cooking with coppersan video)
Thank you very much for all your videos! I've learned soo much with you, that i'm watching every single one. Got a sub, a fan and all my likes! Keep going with great content to help us!
Just started my new acc today. 2.5 hours in and my Kanna is lvl 64. Really need to use all those event thingies you were going on about, man's knows what he's doing 😱
Big tip the scarpyard quest gives 50% at level 199 so save it for that if you can. And totmes are not worth it if you aren't clearing the map efficiently just save them for a new character.
Just had a random thought for any who played way back in the day it was way harder to lvl up especially without much knowledge. I used to get all my info how to lvl and what to do all from a irl buddy. I noticed alot of players around 10-70. I felt like this put alot of new players and semi experienced players in the same areas which lead to alot of interactions. Nowadays we all just grind our new characters up asap and so on. Still love the game but just a thought of why those times seemed so lively
Wow, great video man! I had no idea about the familiar collection thing. Could you maybe make a video explaining some of the stuff that's kind of hidden away like that?
Started to play yesterday and advanced to third class today. Pretty much all classes I tried seem to be "spam this one skill" until you advance and then "spam another Skill" Is this the base concept of the game and do I need to switch to combo classes for more buttons? 😅
I have a video idea for you with this new series! You should put all the characters You haven’t played yet (on this account, or which mules are the most beneficial for you) on pieces of paper and drop them in front of your cat and pick whichever he takes interest in the most. :)
Let's say I am brand new to this game, what class/character do you think is the most fun overall? I'm not talking ease of use, I mean they are just someone really fun that I will enjoy so much I'll want to play this game
So, I haven't played MapleStory in years and probably just wanna make a fresh account. What would be the best place to get any helpful info for first class to pick and among other things? cause I have no idea what linking and the like are.
Hey Coppersan, you forgot step 0 where you level Kanna first and roll for 120% meso obtained and farm Northern Heights for 8 hours a day 7 days a week. What's that Blackgate and both NH and BG Ring are gone? What's that? They nerfed Kishin? pepehands
Hey coopersan or anyone I have a question, should I wait for the destiny update to make a new character?. I've been wanting to make and main hero but not sure if it's worth just waiting for the destiny update to global. I heard there's going to be a burning event during the destiny update so not sure if it's worth the wait 🤔 I could be wrong too
I'm a bit of a beginner to Reboot myself. So far i have an Ark (153), Aran(136), Mercedes(120 for the link skill) and a Demon Avenger(82 also for the link skill). However i don't really understand how to get the blooming coins by defeating monsters. I'm probably doing something wrong xD Also how did you get the mastery books you needed? I know you can buy them for 3m and 5m but any way to get some "free" ones? I know the Silent Crusade gets you some.
You have to activate the event skill in the first tab of the skill window, it's bugged rn so it's not activating automatically. Some theme dungeons will give mastery books as well, check the rewards for theme dungeons through the guide window and do the ones that give either mastery boxes or mastery books
Could you please recommend a guide or path for leveling from 1-250 & optimizing gear like you do in the video? I'm interested in start playing again but I used to play before Big Bang and I know shit about the game now.
I was wondering if you would be willing to do this series again, but on a non-reboot server? Really liked this and it would be nice to have a series for both versions.

I know you have your own preferences and everything can't be included in a short video, but I feel like it's worth mentioning SW weapon even if you've decided to not use one.

im too lazy to grind the rest of the way to 200 from 170s lel. hell i got like 15-20 chars stuck there just waiting on those event potions lmao. damn my main for taking up monster park for the stupid medal. gotta wait a few months before mp is freed up. but at least the mules can do basic bosses for some mesos
