- Опубликовано: 9 сен 2024
- When doing gas chromatography, it is important to get a good, square cut for your GC fused silica capillary column, and a ceramic scoring wafer is the right tool for this job. A good cut is an integral part of making sure you have proper column installation and leak free connections.

sir why do you need to cut the column? what is the purpose of cutting a column?
Can you explain what's the purpose of the serrated edge, please? (Assuming there is a purpose).
In the past, the serrated edge was recommended for use for cutting some smaller ID metal columns. Generally, even those are now recommended to be cut with the smooth edge.
@@RestekCorp Thank you for the information.
Sir explain about capillary column and glass column
Glass has been used to make capillary columns and packed gas chromatography columns. While it has some appeal, it was brittle and could be hard to handle, especially glass capillary columns. When polymer coated fused silica capillary columns were introduced, they were a huge leap forward in durability.
