I would love a hobby pack with pottery, sewing,... perhaps also new after school activities for children like ballet class. I hope the business part allows business from home. That's the kind of shops I liked the most in sims 2.
A hobby EP definitely needs a world, since each hobby type should have some sort of a hangout place. Sure, we could overhaul some existing lot types (e.g. the museum with Arts & crafts), but surely there needs to be space for the new ones.
I'd prefer they don't add a new world, if it means they give more to hobbies - just like seasons didn't need a new world because seasons are everywhere, it's the same with hobbies
@@TinySnowkitty in The Sims 2, each hobby was linked to a secret lot you could reach. The equivalent of that in The Sims 4 would some new be community lot types (which we DO need). An alternative would be making them available in your library so you could place them anywhere, but that'd mean they wouldn't be strictly necessary for that hobby. Idk if that's a good design choice. E.g. with a sports hobby type we could get a stadium lot that could host sports competitions
The actual opportunity to skip making a new world was with For Rent, since you can build residential rentals everywhere with that EP. They didn't pick it, so it's unlikely they won't include a new world when it makes more sense.
Well this would explain the bug with retail lot npcs not showing up, if they're working on a business type back! I just hope we get the ticket machine from sims 2 open for business and that we can own other business types like spas and cafes.
Malls used to be filled with Hobby Shops. That's where I used to buy TTRPGs, like AD&D, TMNT & Other Strangeness, Robotech, etc., as well as comic books, models, etc. Art & crafts, etc. Mega Malls, like West Edmonton Mall has (or had, haven't been there since 1999) waterslides, wave pool, amusement park, as well as a high rise hotel that catered to various themes, like Valentine's Day and cosplay/roleplay for those who could afford it. Malls also have hairdressers, spas, food courts, dollar stores, big box stores, grocery stores (useful for getting hard to get ingredients from the different game worlds), maybe a blood bank for Sims to make deposits and Vampires to make withdrawals, there could be a nursery for dropping off the toddlers and infants while the older Sims shop. A virtual one-stop place for goods and entertainment as well as careers and hobbies.
If we get a hobbies pack, I REALLY hope they include pool tables, trainsets, toy-making, cars/mechanics, and NEW exercise equipment and new woodworking craftables. We don't really need a new world at the moment. But I know that's how they pad EPs.
I want more musical instruments and new one's like saxophones or recorders or flutes, instruments they never did before! Or drums and bass but you know... More musical instruments... Anything in that regard that's new.
I haven’t even had time to properly mourn with the Funeral Pack yet-let alone dive into all the kits we just got-and now they’re already teasing another expansion pack?! At this point, I feel like I’m trapped in a never-ending content avalanche, just desperately trying to keep up. I never thought I’d say this about *The Sims*, but this is *too much*. The sheer amount of content they’re throwing at us is wild. EA, please, I beg you-slow down. Let me *breathe* before my Sims end up planning *my* funeral.
I loved playing the hobby pack in TS2. I hope that it's coming back with improvements. We could get a new lot type that helps build skills faster to do hobbies. It could also work as a community type lot in general and could serve as a meeting area for skill base groups too.
It feels like since this is a hobbies pack and GtW already has the Goods part of Goods and Services covered with the retail stores, the business part of this one could be the services part. Like maybe they’ll introduce a customizable shop lot type that you can choose a skill/skills or something and that’s the service(s) you provide at this location. Like a comedy club or beauty shop or crafting lessons, etc. It would also be great and I’d imagine easy to implement if we got a ticket machine or w/e that attaches to objects and sims have to pay now to use that object so that you could do like karaoke bars or laundromats or your own gym or what have you. Idk, I just feel like there’s a lot of potential.
I think it'll be bands (so hobby is singing, drums and the instruments we already have) and multi use lots so you can have a shop etc where you live. And that'll be it! They never give us all the gameplay options they used to in sims 2 and 3. Hopefully it's much more though!
I really don’t want a “hobbies world” if it locks gameplay for the new hobbies to that world, that’s my only worry with it being an EP. I also already feel like I have too many worlds I don’t play with or barely play with. So if they make the pack worth it without the world, that’s fine. If they add a world and make it so anything in that world can also be played with outside that world, that’s fine too. Like High School is locked to one world, mountain climbing, one world. Like if they add surfing, it should be Sulani compatible. They’d need to make everything in a way that whatever we get folds easily to all the existing worlds and gameplay and I hope, really hope, it incorporates all the EXISTING packs with little hobby bits and pieces into a larger hobby system and its not just a bunch of random disconnected new things.
I think we will be able to have business at homes. Maybe mutlipurpose lots will be a thing as that has been highly requested. Please give use cars. I'm excited about this, and this could be my favorite expansion. Also, it makes sense as we are getting a business kit and we got business and sports clothing in the last two kits released a couple of weeks ago.
Kids definitely need more after school activities to sign up for. Ballet would for sure be an option. Other ideas for clubs could be karate, gymnastics and some kind of sport like football (I know we got a ball with university but still no goal 🥅)
Because it's a simulation game, we don't request things because they're practical or useful but because they let us play out different situations. Entering the car, backing out, mechanic career, woohoo spot ect is enough for cars to exist.
Same reason we had them in other sims games, it makes way more sense and is way more immersive for a Sim to get in a car and “drive off screen” same as Sims 1 and 2 over just dissolving into thin air…like they do in Sims 4.
Totally agree. The best cars of the franchise are from The Sims 2. And they have many animations. If they are not going to update lots for the cars to drive off. I think it's not worth it. Especially because The Sims 2 worlds have a straight sidewalk so the adaptation for the driveway was way easier.
Wonder how many hobbies we'll get in this pack. The only thing I can think of business is selling things that you make with your hobbies but that's what plopsie is for. Maybe the ability to teach the hobbies like you can with spa day?
@ not sure if you’re genuinely asking or just baiting. If you’re being genuine, please watch the video again. I am expressing my agreement to some of the points that ironseagull had made.
It feels so weird this map is like teasers for teasers and then a ton of stuff at once. Why not release a kit and then wait and then release something else with less huge build up to a teaser then 4 packs. Just a thought...???
Yeah I too have been asking for a hobbies pack for years, also cars of course. I will be funny if we they re-release The Sims 2, which has drivable cars, ( frankly the best cars of all, since your Sims can come out of their house and open the car door and then drive out of the driveway) and we don't have drivable cars in The Sims 4, when it's the newest Sims game. I feel sometimes like we went backwards a bit when The Sims 4 came out with everything that was missing, I mean we had toddlers, swimming pools, washing machines, of course cars, in The Sims 2, but we didn't have those and many other things with The Sims 4 in 2014, talk about weird.
I have been begging for a pottery wheel for ages - I really hope it's included! Also, a gardening fix (with some additional features) would be greatly appreciated! This pack sounds like fun!
i dont really garden much so im out of that loop. what things need fixing with the in game gardening? and what other features would you like them to add?
@ India doesn't really make sense for a hobbies pack. Maybe for bands if you could make Bollywood style music videos? Hobbies is such a general concept, I don't think it makes sense to try forcing a world into it
I hope it has gameplay that works and is good. It feels like most of the packs of late are less new gameplay and animations and more just AI features added. I want my Sims to be able to DO some new things. Not just that cloud of movement and wa la they did something heres a random thing popped into the world they made or did. And Please please dont let it be just redone kids tables or things we have just reskinned into a "new" thing.
A hobby pack would be awesome! Idk what the business thing is all about, I feel like the retail store and the sales tables are good enough, but I guess we'll find out!
The retail system is bare bones tho. The sales table are pretty cool but not the best when you want a more fulfilled business. Cause you can't really build a store out of that. It's just a table.
Sometimes I feel like expansions packs would be way better if they didn’t come with a world I mean what exactly can u do with a world themed around hobbies and jobs maybe we will get those hobby community lots
I feel like this would just be an expansion pack that adds a lot of small things sorta like the original hobbies pack and maybe it’s just an excuse to add a lot of things that the community asks like more in tráumente maybe more sports
The Sims 4 already has so many hobbies I want them to create a better way to sell your hobby products or make more hobbies that make you no money. In fact I want to see them be true to life and create hobbies that suck your money and make you nothing. Hobbies don't create money hobbies waste time. I literally want to see lilsimsie's Stanley Humphrey attempt to do one of these hobbies and die from hunger because it's impossible.
i cant decide if you are being sarcastic or not. you genuinely feel like the sims 4 has a ton of hobbies already? especially when compared to past sims games? and as for the comment you made about how "Hobbies don't create money hobbies waste time" im genuinely curious where you are coming at that from. sure there are plenty of hobbies irl that dont make a person money (like playing instruments or playing dnd) but then on the flipside there are SO many ways irl to make money off of almost any hobby if you are smart. i mean what do you think etsy is? people making various arts and crafts as a hobby and then making money off that hobby.
So since The Sims 4 isn’t ending, when are we getting a native next gen version of the game? Would enjoy better performance, graphics and loading times on console. Would like to play however, staring at long loading screens is the majority of my gameplay. Since they want to add so many live service elements to a single-player old game, why not properly update it like other games they want to emulate? Fornite and other games will continued support and battle passes all have next gen versions. However, simmers will not demand better or actually force EA to do better for their customers. Since no covers console EA doesn’t care, and we get the least amount of effort possible. Oh well, I just play other games with better support and spend my money elsewhere.
I would love a hobby pack with pottery, sewing,... perhaps also new after school activities for children like ballet class.
I hope the business part allows business from home. That's the kind of shops I liked the most in sims 2.
I really want pottery
Multi purpose lots in a world that is like a downtown strip mall comes to mind.

Loved Open For Business and Free Time in the Sims 2 so this excites me! Hope we get the sewing machine and businesses on home lots.
Oh no, this sounds like my dream pack. Going to be hard to not have high hopes for this.
Me too I want so much new activities and also for kids and toddlers
SAMEEE

Prehaps the business part could add actual malls.
That would be awesome
Multifunctional lots hopefully
I would love to expand the woodworking hobby. Pick the colors and have a better variety. How cool to be able to build your own columns, sofa etc
Bands! Cars! Sculpting! Gimmeeee gimeee

On the business side, this pack could provide a lot type where sims could make things a then bring them to a sales table to sell.

we badly need more hobbles in the sims 4! i loved the hobbies system in the sims 2 :)
Maybe you can have a mechanic/body shop?
I’d love that as an active career!
I think we will be able to have business at homes. Maybe mutlipurpose lots will be a thing as that has been highly requested. Please give use cars. A hobbies pack could give us more pool items eg pool slides.
That's not a hobby tho. I feel like they will add that in a Hotel/resort pack. Which I hope comes this year as well
if they introduce a new type of business it better be brick and mortar like retail, restaurant or vets. no more selling tables pleaseeee
Kids definitely need more after school activities to sign up for. Ballet would for sure be an option. Other ideas for clubs could be karate, gymnastics and some kind of sport like football (I know we got a ball with university but still no goal 🥅)
And it’s a whole expansion! I hope it has a way for us to live in the businesses. Also bands!
Still confused as to why people want cars

Pool slides and excercise bikes finally? 🤯
God yes please!!
I don’t think we’re ever getting cars, there’s too many lots that don’t have roads, it would just be too janky

The sims team are killing it these days!!! I’m really pleased with everything they’ve been releasing these days
It being expansion pack and not a game pack sounds super concerning to me 🫤😮
Why?
@ not sure if you’re genuinely asking or just baiting. If you’re being genuine, please watch the video again. I am expressing my agreement to some of the points that ironseagull had made.
im genuinely curious why this being an ep would worry you over a gp. to me and ep means more content added vs a gp, and thats always a yes for me.
It feels so weird this map is like teasers for teasers and then a ton of stuff at once. Why not release a kit and then wait and then release something else with less huge build up to a teaser then 4 packs. Just a thought...???

how would you drive though when the game isnt open world, and half the worlds dont have streets? how would it work?

The sims 2 free time was my favourite pack also, it had so much good gameplay, but to be fair I only owned a couple of packs 😅
I would be really disappointed if it didn't include a world.
Hoping there will be a mall we can edit in that world, it’d be the perfect opportunity for it
What kind of world should be included?
@IronSeagull I would like to see a world related to the new hobbies in the pack or something inspired by India.
@ India doesn't really make sense for a hobbies pack. Maybe for bands if you could make Bollywood style music videos? Hobbies is such a general concept, I don't think it makes sense to try forcing a world into it
Do cars count as a hobby? 👉👈 /j 1:33 and you just said it lol
it does. And colorwheel counts too :)
they can place the hobby pack as the fairy pack since fairies have a wide range of hobbies and can be transfered also available to non occult sims
I'm sure the name of the pack would be very different if fairies were involved
I hope it has gameplay that works and is good. It feels like most of the packs of late are less new gameplay and animations and more just AI features added. I hope some base game skills get enhaced (like painting and woodworking)
The name needed to be something that was straightforward. 😂

i would prefer if bands came in its own pack. but thats because i tend to think of bands as less of a hobby and more of a lifestyle/career.
I’m so excited 😭
another city world . a city living 2.0 . business like dentist job in a building etc.... or office work

If there is no weed smoking or wine tasting hobbies, it's a sheeet pack.
@@franciscoxavier7398 Horse Ranch already has wine making and just download the Basemental mod because they’re not putting smoking in the game
Miss cars...Hobbies was fun in free time.
Could being a burglar be considered a hobby??? I want burglars....
I think that’s more a career than a hobby
@IronSeagull well it did say careers and hobbies. So im crossing my fingers .
"For me personally" bro, you can just say personally lmao
Thanks for being so polite about that feedback, bro!! 😎
that was an oddly specific grammar nitpick bro.
