Thanks for the yeast answers. Sometimes I feel like I have a handle on the subject and the next... I'm a total newb.

Thanks for the info on restarting my still after having to shut down for one reason or another and the wash has time to cool down. I never used to take fores and heads cuts after I started back up but will now. Never thought about everything settling back down into the wash. It makes sense and again thanks for the info. Love the talking head videos. Short and to the point.

First I wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Question: do you think there is enhanced flavor gain by adding some wash to either the boiler or thumper or perhaps even both … assuming that the run I’m referring to would be the spirit run. That is AFTER collecting low wines ( 40% average ) from numerous stripping runs to “fill” the boiler ?
    Thanks again
    Brett

Alan. Thank you for the great information.
    I have a question.
About cleaning runs and if you have talked about this I’m sorry. I have a new piece of equipment from Ozark Still Works and want to do a cleaning run to get any residual flux or oil off the copper. I know that Wayne cleans his stuff very well but just a precaution. How often should I be doing a cleaning run. Ie vinegar and water. After cleaning with pbw and water. And rinsing. I don’t wanna pull all the patena off the copper but I do wanna get the copper sulfates off. Thanks again. 🥃

Hi Allan, you mentioned collapsing a still after shut down, that one needs to open two way valve, etc. Even if you do not have inline thumper? My understanding is that linearm and condenser (any kind) has plenty of room to eliminate creating a vacuum inside a still after shot downs, it is open system and just suck in any air it needs to pressurise boiler. Am I right or I am missing something? Cheers.

Definitely not. Woodford reserve found that out the hard way a couple years back, and imagine how thick that copper is.
