I liked "set" 3, games 2, 6 and 9. Hans showed a lot more variety than Vidit, but Vidit showed a great ability to defend and counter-attack. He also showed that at certain times a queen trade would really reduce the strength of Hans middle-game play. That was especially helpful for Hans future development. Clearly, Hans also came away with a great respect for Vidit and his individual style skills. Matches are always different from tournaments in that way. Great match. Very entertaining. Thanks, Hans for making it happen. The whole chess world has learned a thing or two about real creativity with this.

Actual genius play by Hans to mention this in the same breath that he must be better than Hikaru given Hikaru's reputation for being a blitz / rapid beast. Controversy will just make more engagement on the video.

@SELECT289 What are you saying? And it was hans himself who made that comparison so you'd be just as convinced if he said he almost outperformed God? Lol let the public speak dork. Great performance, Hans is a force. Vidit is just not comparable in blitz to his classical I don't think.

Quicker time controls are the future of chess. I prefer classical as do many people. The problem is that the audience does not.
