      Do you think this something others would like more of as well? I’m always looking for ideas about what to post.

    Thanks for all your work. I am enjoying all your tutorials as difficult as they are for me. After several hours, I almost got " Go Rest High" down. I like your approach on this song where I can see the keyboard and the chords.

    Thanks Martin, I'm glad I've found your tutorial/channel. I am struggling with the title song of 'El Dorado' on piano, sung by George Alexander. It's also a 3/4 time song but at least I have an idea now how to approach it in terms of rythm. Regards Jan, the Netherlands.

    I enjoyed your tutorial. Could you perhaps have left hand notes played in blue and right in another colour? Would help enormously. Many thanks for all your efforts and time.

      Hey, thanks for the suggestion. The current software I use doesn't allow for a keyboard split for the color. If I find software that does that, I will be sure to employ it. That's a great suggestion!!!!

    Hey, Martin! Just found your channel this week, and I'm excited about learning from you. Great content. Thanks for blessing us with it.
    I actually found you by typing your name in a RUclips search because I remembered you from your Singing Americans days (one of my all time favorite lineups), and the last I saw anything from you was the Gospel Piano video you made with several other Southern Gospel pianists (which was great).
    What are you doing now, if I might ask?

    Great teaching, What program do you use to highlight the keys you play in the color BLUE?

    • @MartinGureasko

      I use two different ones. One is vmpk (vmpk.sourceforge.io) and the other one is Synthesia (synthesiagame.com/download). I haven't decided which one I like better but I'm leaning toward Synthesia.

    Martin does diamonds refer to shape notes?

    • @MartinGureasko
      @MartinGureasko  5 лет назад

      There is a diamond in the shape note system, but what I'm referring to here is playing chords over several beats (usually an entire measure or several measures). I don't know how the name "diamonds" came to be, except that (this is just a guess) that in rhythmic notation, a whole note is represented by a diamond shape. All I know for sure, is that very early on when I was doing sessions, I would hear "let's play diamonds" which meant to play a chord and hold it, rather than playing some sort of rhythmic pattern. Because I lead worship from the piano, I typically play diamonds more than 50% of the time, and let the rest of the band carry the rhythm.

    Diamonds..I'll research it and see if I can find it.

      Hey Chris, that term works as well. ha ha I have heard it referred to as boomchicka. It does have that ump-papa sound. I have to fight the urge to yell, "All Skate!"
