Thanks for all your work. I am enjoying all your tutorials as difficult as they are for me. After several hours, I almost got " Go Rest High" down. I like your approach on this song where I can see the keyboard and the chords.
Thanks Martin, I'm glad I've found your tutorial/channel. I am struggling with the title song of 'El Dorado' on piano, sung by George Alexander. It's also a 3/4 time song but at least I have an idea now how to approach it in terms of rythm. Regards Jan, the Netherlands.
I enjoyed your tutorial. Could you perhaps have left hand notes played in blue and right in another colour? Would help enormously. Many thanks for all your efforts and time.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. The current software I use doesn't allow for a keyboard split for the color. If I find software that does that, I will be sure to employ it. That's a great suggestion!!!!
Hey, Martin! Just found your channel this week, and I'm excited about learning from you. Great content. Thanks for blessing us with it. I actually found you by typing your name in a RUclips search because I remembered you from your Singing Americans days (one of my all time favorite lineups), and the last I saw anything from you was the Gospel Piano video you made with several other Southern Gospel pianists (which was great). What are you doing now, if I might ask?
Thanks!! I'm putting together a new blog so be sure to check out thepianopro.com It's still being built, but it is live and there are some posts already on there.
Thanks John. The link was still pointing to my old blog. Here's a working link for the transcript: martingureasko.ipage.com/transcripts/no_one_stands_alone.pdf
Sir can you please compose one track for me..I want to play only with keyboard but I have no idea to start compose 'cos it is a song I wrote for my mother she passed away on the 12 October 2019..and I want to play the song on her first death anniversary i.e 12 October this year 2020...cos I'm not too much experience in compose, actually I only love to immitate the song of others...I only have an idea toI compose a song and lyrics..but I don't have so much idea in composing the instruments. Can you do this one favour for me Sir..? without any charges cos I'm a poor 30 years old boy if so I will send the demo song and lyric. I just subscribed uour channel now. I appreciate your Ideas and kindness.Sir. Thank you
I use two different ones. One is vmpk (vmpk.sourceforge.io) and the other one is Synthesia (synthesiagame.com/download). I haven't decided which one I like better but I'm leaning toward Synthesia.
There is a diamond in the shape note system, but what I'm referring to here is playing chords over several beats (usually an entire measure or several measures). I don't know how the name "diamonds" came to be, except that (this is just a guess) that in rhythmic notation, a whole note is represented by a diamond shape. All I know for sure, is that very early on when I was doing sessions, I would hear "let's play diamonds" which meant to play a chord and hold it, rather than playing some sort of rhythmic pattern. Because I lead worship from the piano, I typically play diamonds more than 50% of the time, and let the rest of the band carry the rhythm.
Hey Chris, that term works as well. ha ha I have heard it referred to as boomchicka. It does have that ump-papa sound. I have to fight the urge to yell, "All Skate!"
That was perfect ... I have been looking for alternatives for country 3/4 time... PRINTING THE SAMPLE thank you.... Lee
Do you think this something others would like more of as well? I’m always looking for ideas about what to post.

Great teaching, What program do you use to highlight the keys you play in the color BLUE?

Diamonds..I'll research it and see if I can find it.
I call that ump-papa

Thank you so much that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm studying the fundamentals now and I love theory.
