All I want is a good (single-player) Fallout game. The problem with Bethesda is that a long development time is usually not reflected in technical maturity. Unfortunately, they really blew it with FO 76...

I just wanna experience New Vegas again.
Just recently bought fallout 4 again and played through it. I got it at launch, had a lot of negative opinions about it. After coming back 6 years later I really enjoyed it, maybe just because I missed the fallout world so much, now I’m dying for a new game!
Same, I assume you've played it with sims settlements? I dodged that mod for years thinking it was just a settlement mod, but it totally changes the experience of the game, highly recommend if you havent tried it.
I’m glad to finally hear something on Fallout 5 but at the same time it’s really depressing hearing that Bethesda has no plans of letting another developer outside of BGS develop another Fallout game. With BGS being busy working on Starfield then TES 6 THEN STARTiNG development on Fallout 5 it will be at least another 10 to 15 years before we see another Fallout game. Just depressing.

2030 sounds about right, if it takes about five years to create a new game engine, and then three or four years to make the game itself. Besides as long as 76 still brings in money they will slowly work on Fallout 5, not positive just my opinion.
I'd rather them get something right instead of rush shit and make something absolutely terrible. I'm a patient man, I've always laughed at people who complain about a game not coming, and then the game comes and its unfinished.

After Fallout 3 was released work on the next Fallout game didn't begin right away, instead Bethesda decided to finish supporting Fallout 3 with updates and DLC. After those updates and DLC's where finished in 2009, Todd got a team together to begin production on Fallout 4, while Skyrim went full production and was released 2 years later in 2011. The team that worked on Skyrim couldn't go and join the team that Todd created and put to work on Fallout 4 in 2009 just yet, as Skyrim still needed support for updates and DLC for a further 2 years.
Bethesda then stopped supporting Skyrim in 2013 with updates and DLC, and that's when the Skyrim team joined the team that Todd created in 2009 to begin work on Fallout 4, to allow Fallout 4 to go into full production in 2013. As we know, the game was released 2 years later in 2015.
In this IGN interview, Todd said something about having a 2 year overlap in the production of one game over the other. Unlike with Fallout 3 where Bethesda waited until they finished up the updates and DLC for it in 2009 so they could begin work on Fallout 4, they started work on Starfield right after Fallout 4 in 2015, at the same time overlapping the support that Fallout 4 was getting with updates and DLC with the production of Starfield.
If we use this schedule today, including the overlapping that Todd mentions in the IGN interview, that means that after Bethesda has released Starfield, they may begin production on Fallout 5, at the same time supporting Starfield with updates and DLC for around 2 years, just like they did after Fallout 4 when Starfield began production. Remember, Todd created a team to begin work on Fallout 4 in 2009, and was joined by the Skyrim team in 2013 and that's when Fallout 4 went into full production.
With the difference being 4 years from the beginning of production to full production, this means that Fallout 5 would go into full production in 2026, when the ES6 is released and at the same time being 4 years after the release of Starfield. This allows the ES6 team to join the team that started production on Fallout 5 in 2022, right after Starfield. As we already know Fallout 4 was in full production for 2 years 2013 - 2015, so once again with the same schedule being 2 years in full production from 2026, that puts a possible Fallout 5 release date at 2028.
@Ivan. Maybe so, but Bethesda having more resources will be transitional also, as Bethesda is able to expand even further, that's inevitably going to take time as they build more studios, and spread there teams out to increase production speed. Even if they where to speed up production on Fallout 5 and have the release pulled forward, that would be damaging as having ES6 and Fallout release the same year is not a good marketing model. They need to be at least 2 years apart. The acquisition of Bethesda is not really going to have any effect on ES6, so I expect the release date to be around 2026.

I would like to think that they will make another fallout not exactly by the name of 5 and hand that to obsidian. This will give bathesda all the time they need to make they're way to fallout 5 if anything obsidian could even go as far as doing a fallout that connects to the events of New Vegas which means we will eventually have a fully cannon United States fallout primarily based on both obsidian and bathesda content.
Should be: Stanfield. ES6. THEN fallout 5. In my opinion

I would love to see Obsidian work on this. Outer Worlds had such a New Vegas feel to it in terms of story, with almost every action you make (sadly in quests only) gives a reaction further down the line. I missed this with FO4 and would really love to see that in-depth lore-based storytelling to make a return.
I haven't finished Outer Worlds yet. But if I'm honest I got bored after I left Edgewater. I don't know if it was the setting or the story. Also I think the people that worked for New Vegas don't work for the company anymore. I would like for the dialogue skill checks to be implemented like Outer Worlds though.
@@drlukas4242 ill be honest I'm in the same boat, the linear world of Outer Worlds had gotten very boring for me as well. But like you said the dialogue skill checks are so reminiscent of that game. I think it was like 20% of the New Vegas team worked on outer worlds. I could be completely wrong though.
@@crazyjeesus351 I heard that most of the people that worked on New Vegas left and went on to work for other Microsoft companies. But that might have been referring to the writers of New Vegas.
I hope the next fallout takes place in New Texas so we can watch the Texas chapter of the Brotherhood of steal face the legion in Arizona. And some Mexican cartel Ghouls would be cool to hangout with. I think a great character would be a prisoner who's spent the last 10 years in a wasteland prison. Instead of "The Courier", he's referred to as "The prisoner" or "Prisoner 16" and instead of starting off with a vault suit, you start off with a orange prison jumpsuit with a huge "16"on the back....Kinda like a vault suit. But changed different...
Fallout 5 needs to bring closure to the franchise - the most advanced vault ever made, what happened to the president of the USA?
Either New York or San Francisco two iconic cities and most importantly - who dropped the bombs first?

Fallout 5 need ghoulification i know its out there but it would be such a neat tool depending on what time the game takes place like what I mean by that is just the ability for a character to ghoulify over time. You could see how ghouls are treated by other factions and get to experience racism some vendors won't sell to you npcs have a chance to shoot on sight brotherhood bars you from joining ect ect it has a lot of potential as a mechanic but I kinda see how thats a pain in the butt to implement.
I think a good spinoff that obsidian could make could be a story told entirely in a vault, with a experiment that isn’t known yet in the lore. Think how cool it would be to play as a overseer. You could pick group of vault dwellers to side with, and secretly you are being put through a experiment. It would be a shorter game, but I think obsidian has proven their worth in a fallout game, and if any one could pull it of, it’s them.
New Fallout should have overtones of The Institute AFTER Nate destroys it. I mean you have the C.I.T. based on M.I.T. so why wouldn't you have other Institute allies in, say, California or Texas. You could have a version of all the multiple Federal agencies such as F.B.I., C.I.A., Homeland....etc be an entity that has the same control over other Institutes
And I believe it's 4 to 5 years out

Hey, I am a PlayStation Gamer and used to play on Xbox. I managed to get a PS5 so, I went with it. Do you think all Bethesda Produced and Developed games are now exclusive to Xbox and PC? I mean it is cool if they are I am just hoping I didn't mess up with my purchase. I am a huge Fallout fan.
The wasteland is cruel, perverted, and bleak, but there's hope. Large settlements have formed in the few places crops grow, but the land is only getting worse. You survived an attack, a dying scientist asks you to take the G.E.C.K. (a replica) and save the land. The brotherhood is in a state of civil war. Half seeks purity at all costs, and the other wants democracy and freedom for any human, mutant, or machine that's proven to show humanity. The enclave lurks in the shadows, and the stars. The prydwen was destroyed in Boston. Trade routes exist underground, through caves and manmade tunnels, but mostly on land. We have vehicles, mechanical and nuclear. One class of vehicle is powered by Nuka cola quantum. Some ghouls and synths have hatred for humanity due to decades of oppression, but some want peace. Robots have advanced, too. There's even a bar and community exclusive for Mr Handy's, synths, and other androids with a star wars reference, "we don't serve your kind here", preferably given by the voice of codsworth (or you know, same voice actor as the others) I'd like to see Nick Valentine make a return, having only vague memories of the commonwealth, he's at the end of his life. Some machines want to destroy the G.E.C.K. so they'll be the remaining dominant species when humanity has no food. You can be human, ghoul, or synth. And you have customization with in depth detail. Please Bethesda, make this a reality.

I can't see Obsidian working on the title in the *near* future due to their loaded schedule of Outer Worlds 2 and of course avowed. Obsidian is also broken up working on smaller projects like grounded and some other new and smaller experimental IP's/titles. But that is only the immediate future - doesn't mean it cant happen further down the line though but it would still be years away

But fallout 4 is more of a FPS and a very shallow RPG at best, fallout 4 is not a bad game though I enjoyed my time with it. Especially the far Harbour DLC but compared to fallout new Vegas and fallout 1 it’s poor.

I'd also like to point out that just because there is a one pager, in no way mean we're going to get a fallout 5 from Bethesda. Case and point; The original Fallout 3 (Van Buren I think). The game got definitely way further than a "one-pager" and it never got to see the light of day....
why dont they outsource a fallout game, maybe not even fallout 5 but similar to what they did with new vegas. in 4-5 years itd be done and in 4-5 years they should be getting about done with starfield and es6 and they could start working on fallout 5. thatd be 2 fallouts in the time theyd be able to make 1. Just doesnt make sense especially considering new vegas was the best fallout there is imo.

I'm glad there are people out there that like it, but I found Fallout 4 to be a disappointment. It wasn't outwardly bad. It was just aggressively mediocre. The only thing I loved about it was having a voiced protagonist (developers always claim to give us a silent protagonist when they want us to project ourselves onto the character, but I'm pretty sure they're just being cheap and lazy). I hope they've learned their lesson after the disaster that was Fallout 76 and the masterpiece that was Fallout: New Vegas (I know it was subcontracted out to Obsidian, but I hope they can learn from Obsidian's example).
I agree. For me there's 2 big things they got wrong. Number 1 was taking away the karma system and it's effects on game play. Numver 2 being multiple game changing choices with multiple outcomes. Both big and small. All Fo4 turned into was witch side do you want to join.

Hello, well.... I'm working On A Huge Project for A possible Fallout 5, So depending on Fallout Fans, Bethesda, & Todd Howard.... We could get Fallout 5 alot more soon .then 2030... but I believe it would still be, roughly around 2024, to 2025... for The Game Designers to have it Completely Polished to its Release!!!!!! But... I assure You all !!!! If given The opportunity For what I'm writing to be pushed By Bethesda would honestly be The Best Fallout Game, Ever Created... Fantastic? Come on man.. fo4 was pretty much anything but fantastic. It was at most, an unacceptable disappointment.
Sure, it’s super fun with mods, but that is more an indication of its LACK of quality.
Fallout 4 was a complete failure
Fallout 4 was not fantastic, easily the worst release in the series. Lazily made map cheated with water, way to easy, and every important character was invincible. The main quest line was alright but that was it, the exploration value afterwards was 0. Also the weapons were incredibly unbalanced explosives didn't do shit. The skill point and level up system was changed for no reason. The power armor was atrocious, just make it wearable armor. Also the style of graphics did not fit the universe and took the seriousness out of the game. Now 4 did have pros one being the gun play, the synths and how they broke apart during combat, the gun table, junk system. However these 4 qualities don't make up for the game we deserved or were promised. Until Bethesda focuses on the passion of making the game and takes their time making it every release will be bad.

I expected a way better and bigger game and there's no reason they couldn't have waited to release it. Id be fine if they had released nothing and fallout was just now about to come out imagine how much better of a game wed have and how much longer it would last? No wonder GTA6 is taking so long they want it to better than 5 and RDR2.

He should really outsource it, Bethesda fallout titles have all been terrible rpgs with the exception of 4 being a exceptionally terrible RPG
I agree it wasn’t the best RPG. However I did like the world and the gun gameplay. It did feel like more of an FPS than it did an RPG though. And maybe amazing was really strong lol 😂 but I did enjoy fallout 4 a lot.

Uuuh no. It really really REALLY wasnt.
It literally LITERALLY was the farthest thing from what fallout is.
Not only was it originally multiplayer but they decided half way through nah scratch that idea. Instead of remaking the game the said oh yea sure let’s just not restart and make a second game all together based on the building.
The building was literally pointless.

Fallout4 was by far the worst game I’ve ever played in my life.
3 was amazing and god like as well as new Vegas.
Fallout 4 took away from the experience, the whole character having a voice took away from role play, the outfits were trash, the options were trash, graphics trash, gameplay trash, guns trash, all around TRASH.
Unless you’re a real fallout fan you’re not gonna see it. Compare Fallout 1 to 4.
