How James plays these types of chords and sings at the same time will always be a mystery to me
No joke here, but Unforgiven II is the Metallica's song that I've most fond memories. It's actually their first song I actually listened to, when i was like 8 or 9, and it made me have actual musical taste (because before i just have been hearing anything without thinking if i liked that or not)

Massively overlooked song, an absolute gem. Honestly I think I prefer the light verse, heavy chorus structure in this as oppose the original, which is the opposite.

I love this song but trying to learn that chorus riff made me want to break my guitar half the time cause I stupidly decided to try and learn this song right after I started playing guitar. It is now one of my favorite riffs now that I learned it.

The story from one and three is better continuity wise. The man is already crazy and deluded. He shouldn't question if someone's unwell as he believes they are, and then blatantly call it right then and there afterward. He's already crazy and had already called everyone unwell in the first song. Unless two is all about his realization that he is the one unwell and three is self hatred for making everyone distant before he gets worse. I could go one and claim this to be a story of someone with dementia or Alzheimers for how the first song is a given, the second is the confusion, and the third being the realization that something isn't right with him, and he hates himself for shoving everybody away saying that he is sick and now nobody wants to help him, meaning he needs to help himself, and he doesn't want to do that realizing qhat he had done. When James says that the third is the end, we could say that he took his own life is self hatred and depression or he just lived alone and nobody knows he died since no one wanted anything to do with him. It may be a reach, but it can't just be about drug use and how dark someone can be on drugs.

The unforgiving trilogy is the best music trilogy ever. I personally like the unforgiving 3 and 2 better than the first one.
