The thing I like about your channel, and the same with the channel Life with Serg, is that you are wholesome vloggers. What I mean by that is you make content that is both educational and respectful to the people of Bangkok and to the city itself. We all know about Bangkok's underbelly. There are plenty of channels that delve into that. But for a lot of us, we just want to learn about the city more in a relaxing and welcoming environment. Some other favorites of mine are Bangkok Pat, cal, and Global Travel Mate.
I appreciate that comment. Those other channels are also great. Yes, I show a little partying with friends. But, it's normally in a British pub or my friends Stella's place. I don't have any against the red-light areas, but it's not were most people that live here hang out.
Ya BKK has many levels. I love it all. I'm not a huge gambler, but I love walking into a casino and seeing all the energy and action. Same with all the redlight in BKK. It's a sight to see. 99% of what i show is the simple life on the back streets, but what I showed in this video is all over town. Not just Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy.
Ya, I'm trying to just do my thing. I'd say 99% of the comments are favorable. I did get one comment saying "most of us only watch Thailand videos for the redlight stuff" I'm not sure about that. There are plenty of channels for all that. That's cool, it's just not my thing. Probably the best comments I get are along the lines of, I've been to Bangkok a bunch of times. Never left Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy. The next trip, I'll still go to Nana, but I might stay in Ekkamai or On Nut. Have a look around. It's cool to party in Nana, but BKK has so much more to offer. I'm gonna have some fun showing the back streets and other areas of town. I appreciate you watching.
@@EagerExpat For me - I love most everything - ladies and food 😇. I appreciate that you show everything Bangkok. I have the found the videos helpful since I’ll be coming at the end of March. Never been, so it helps to at least get some perspective.
Ya man, Bangkok is an amazing city. It has 5 star hotels, right next door to a redlight area. That's just a part of the city. I'm glad to show the redlight areas in the day. RUclips won't even monetize an evening video. All those hidden camera guys are not making a dime from a Chevy truck ad. They need private donations. Unless I ask a lady if I can film her, I'm not going to do it.
Ha Ha former mailman here. I never counted steps or anything like that. But walking miles is right up my alley. Not carrying a bag of mail and parcels is just much easier. Plus, stopping for a beer is helpful.
Great video Joe. Those little Soi’s sure do make for a good short cut 😂. My wife was originally a little worried about them but if you do decide to walk down one with your partner the girls are very respectful and won’t typically say a word. Also, I much prefer that it’s out in the open rather than hidden away. These things exist in all cities, they just pretend that it doesn’t. Viva BKK.
I agree the smaller back alleys have a lot of energy. Plus, like you say, it's all pretty mellow. Even a single guy won't be hassled just kicking back enjoying a beer.
Hey thanks for watching. Yes, the wild section of town might be on your walk home. I'll often times walk my friend Stella to her car late at night. We walk past all the ladies sitting in front of the Japanese snack bars. She says hello to everyone and treats the ladies with respect. Even though I'm not a potential customer, I also treat all these ladies with respect. A polite no thank you, is better than just ignoring the person. I see that daily. As if the person is invisible. That's not cool.
I almost made a year of daily. Just slowed down to one every other day. Getting a little burned out. I might be back at daily soon. Just having some fun. Go back and check out some classics from 2022 and early 2023. RUclips didn't show those to anyone. I used to be a Mexico channel. The early Bangkok stuff got put on the shelf.
Isn't that the truth. Bangkok has it all. That's why I love the place. I rarely go into Nana Plaza, but I love walking past the place at midnight. It's like being in Vegas on New Years Eve. Same with Cowboy. We'll take a visitor to Cowboy once in awhile. It can be an expensive 3 or 4 beers, but that's ok once in awhile. Like I said in the video, if it's not your thing, that's fine. Just say no thank and you'll get a smile in return. These ladies are working hard. Probably supporting a kid and 6 more people back home. I'm sure not going to judge her or anyone else. I've had problems in my life as well.
Yes, these areas are a major part of the city. No different than going to the redlight in Amsterdam. At this point, Nana and Cowboy are tourist attractions. We haven't got to the "follow the flag down Walking Street" of Pattaya yet, but it's a sight to see. Lot's of neon and music. Since I've moved back to BKK, I've been in Cowboy twice and haven't gone to Nana Plaza. I only really go with a friend visiting from the US. I'm a single guy and fine with all that crazy action, but it's expensive. Beer is a crazy price and ladies drinks can be 350b if you're lucky. But, these smaller redlight areas might be on your walk home. I've never been in any of the places on Soi 24/1, but I walk past every day. I waive hello to the familiar faces out front. These are my neighbors. If I'm invited inside by a new person, I just politely say no thank you. Like I mentioned in another comment, I'm not a fan of just ignoring another person. This lady probably has a tough life and is just trying to survive. It takes me 1 second to say no thank you, have a good evening.

Ya man, it's a great city. I was just trying not to scare anyone off. I'm really a pretty tame channel. I love the nightlife, but most of that isn't cool to film.
Hi, love the channel, heading over to Bangkok in the next week or so. By chance do you know if I need to have an exit flight out of Bangkok to enter, I'm coming from Ireland and gonna do the whole visa on arrival thing. Many thanks
That's a little hit or miss. Before I had my visa, I made a dozen trips over the years into BKK. I have never been asked for a return ticket in BKK. One time Japan Airlines asked me for a return ticket in San Diego and I had one. It was a 29 day trip. The time I moved over here, I had a first class ticket on Japan Airlines. I got lucky and had airline miles. Upgraded from Biz to 1st. I was moving here and had a one way. Of course at LAX they said Thailand requires you show proof of onward travel. Again, this was a 1st class ticket. They said we'll let you go to the lounge but you can't board without buying a ticket out of Thailand in 30 days. There are websites where you can buy a fake ticket for $10. Or I could have bought a refundable ticket. I didn't really care. I just just retired and wanted to drink beer and not worry about all this. So I bought a one way Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur. I think it was $30. That was fine for Japan Airline. I showed up in BKK with four huge suitcases moving here. You think he may have asked why all the luggage for a 30 day trip. Nope, didn't say a word. So I'll leave it up to you. If you can get a $20 ticket from BKK, DMK, etc.. might be worth the piece of mind. Or even one of those "onward travel" websites. Because 2 out of 12 trips I had to show proof. Of course one of those times, I was moving here. Hope that helps.

If not, send me a comment. I usually see those every couple of hours. I'm not sure how much time you have. Buy a ticket to KL or Vietnam, etc.. on day 29. When you fly back to BKK you get another 30 days. Otherwise you have to go to immigration, photos, paperwork and 1900 baht to get another 30 days. Why not go see KL for a few nights. I did a KL playlist on my channel. If you're from the US and many other countries you get 30 days on arrival. Vietnam requires a visa, that used to take 3 or 4 days to receive the email. If you're from the US. I think UK is 30 on arrival. Alright man, see you at Stella's

I enjoy it when you show stellas in your vlog mate and the dude that mentioned it is being a bit childish i reckon and its not like you dont show plenty other things , i enjoy your videos mate i watch them all .
Ya man, Stella's is just a normal place. I guess this guy thought it was a girlie bar and found that offensive. I'd guess his better half might have shut him down. Ha ha. His problem, not mine. I'm a pretty G rated channel compared to many Thai YT channels. Nothing wrong with showing my friends and I partying once in awhile. Maybe you haven't had a drink in 20 years. Maybe you want to ship that video. I don't frequent the redlight area, but I think it's cool they are there. Other people are more uptight. Maybe they need the redlight area. Ha ha.
Baan Kashiwaya next to 101 Premier is a hotel. I stayed there a couple of nights recently. Very Japanese style with enormous rooms but well worn down, bad aircon and so forth. They have an Onsen too. Can't remember if it was mixed or gender separate as I didn't try it out. I can't recommend the hotel until they give it a major renovation. Very nice staff though. I also learned some use it as a short-time love hotel. A bar at the bottom floor seemed popular with what I believe were Japanese immigrants/expats.
Wow, thanks for the local knowledge. There's a Japanese work space/hotel across the street called Live Work Asia. I did a video on the place a few months ago. Very small, but clean and very Japanese.
Many bars do that, but it's not that great a deal. They might charge 700b for an hour of drinking. A beer might be 99b. So you need to drink at least 8 beers an hour for it to pay off. I drink some beer, but not 8 an hour.
Trying to pick a place to stay is difficult without being familiar with the city. Is the area around the quarter phrom phong ok? Are there markets or plentiful street food stands?
It shouldn't be difficult. You can't really go wrong staying anywhere in Bangkok. You'll find markets and food everywhere. If you want to be in the center of things, stay on Soi 24 anywhere near the Hyatt Place. Soi 20 anywhere near the Best Western. You'll need to decide on a $100 place or a $20 place. The closer you get to Terminal 21, the price will increase. Phrom Phong is where I live. Check out the prices at Doubletree on Soi 26. Just pick a place and come. Book the hotel for two days. You can stay or move hotels. A 1000 place to stay in that area.
Can i add?..."side trip life" is rhe only other vlooger where i dont see the face. Not against faces, but so many vloggers are in rhe view... looking, eating ,talking. Your way is better.
Thanks, man. I appreciate the comment. I've seen Side Trip a few times. Great channel. I have nothing against any channel. I know the work involved. I pop in there once in a while. But, this I my BKK view. Not my instagram of me channel. I used to be in front of the camera in my Mexico videos. Here I went another way. I just hold the camera close, so the audio is good and look around. Thanks
I enjoyed walking through that soi with my wife on our last visit. It was very photogenic and I snapped a few quick photos. But it was one too many and a mama san ran out and insisted I delete it. So glad I didn’t 😂 All those businesses are for Japanese customers. They are the preferred sex tourist in Bangkok 😊 I live in Japan and we have all the same things here.
@@jeffincabo I know, I saw the LOL. I still was offering more looks at other red light areas. That's a small part of my channel, but it's a big part of Bangkok.
I've probably covered 50 or 60 areas, but more to come. If you mean the redlight areas, Nana Plaza is locked up tight until 5pm. Then it's zero camera time. I'm sure some guys sneak some shots. That's not my style. I did a Soi Cowboy at 8am look. I'll send a link. But, as far as exploring the Soi, that's what I do the most. Just get out and look around. I've always did that. This time I take the camera along.
Ya I hear you, but there's plenty of hidden camera channels on RUclips and porn sites. If this is your first time here, I understand if this isn't the channel for you. Filming ladies that don't want to be filmed isn't my thing. Most those peep show channels are being shut down anyhow. I filmed a birthday party the other day. Some bar girl in a bikini was a 100 feet away. I got a notice no ad pay for that video. It showed one lady for maybe 3 seconds, across the street. I'll show you how to get there, then you need to book a plane ticket. If you need to figure out where to stay, eat, meet regular folks, get a visa, etc.. check out my channel. If you just want to see some girls, this isn't the place for you. No problem man. I get it. I like to see pretty ladies too. But, Chevy truck or the other people paying the ads aren't down with all that. And those ads are the only way we make a small amount of ad sense cash.
@@EagerExpat Nah no worries, I've been to BKK 15+ times and i wasn't specifically speaking about the ladies. But you did advertise your video as being a party street, and since I'm not that familiar with phrom phong, I was excited to see how it feels at night, see the ambiance, the vibe, the party energy. Ence my comment.
I hear ya. I didn't try to make a click bait. I see guys that like to use a bikini lady for a condo review. My thumbnail was at 7am. I did show the area, but pointing a camera at night down Soi 24/1 will get you yelled at. The moto-taxi guys then get involved. Not my style. Still, I hope you check out Phrom Phong on your next trip. It can get pretty wild. I at least showed you what the street looked like. Add a bunch of neon and 50 ladies sitting out front, and you got the picture. It's not a Soi Cowboy vibe. It's a massage area. A little more low-key.
That's great. I think I did a video on Live Zen. I thought Live Zen was on Soi 26? Maybe there's two? I'll send the link. ruclips.net/video/zRCUnsCVecM/видео.html. Oh it was Live Zen Asia.

She loves new people stopping by. I think it's my buddies party March 2 if you're in town. Otherwise send me a message, if I'm free, I'll run by the bar. If you have Line, I'm joefromcalifornia.
@@EagerExpat Thanks Joe I will do, I look forward to meeting you at some point. I'm from Ireland so I'll check out the whole visa situation for Malaysia today. Appreciate the advice...Bobby
@@funbobby8525 Roger that Bobby. See ya at Stella's or O'Shea's. A proper Irish pub. Home of the Celtics. Catch ya later
Ha ha.
Great information on the Phrom Phong area. I have stayed in a half dozen or more Airbnb's in the area. Looking for a slightly larger long-term place.
Glad it was helpful. I love Phrom Phong
Unlimited beer ?! ❤ I need to get a good recommendation for such bars
Many bars do that, but it's not that great a deal. They might charge 700b for an hour of drinking. A beer might be 99b. So you need to drink at least 8 beers an hour for it to pay off. I drink some beer, but not 8 an hour.
Great video! Will check out soi 24 when I visit.
Soi 24 is great. I'm on Soi 22 as I type. Thanks for watching
@@EagerExpatthanks for the info will be there in a couple months 😁
So glad I didn’t 😂
All those businesses are for Japanese customers. They are the preferred sex tourist in Bangkok 😊 I live in Japan and we have all the same things here.
That's a wild street. Thanks for watching
More Red Light ! LOL
I've toured almost every street in the red light areas. Go back and take a look. More videos to come. But, I'm more about living in Bkk.
@@EagerExpat hmmm IT was joke dude !
@@jeffincabo I know, I saw the LOL. I still was offering more looks at other red light areas. That's a small part of my channel, but it's a big part of Bangkok.
Glad you cover all aspects of the neighborhood. Given your style and detailed review, I wish you would cover more of these areas.
Thailand has a red light district? Who woulda thunk
Yes, it was a real surprise when I moved here. Ha Ha. But, I usually show the other 99% of what BKK has to offer. This is a great city.
honestly it'd be nicer to do this at night... Not much to see here, everything is closed.
Animal clinic 😂 Thai slang maybe 😮
Ha ha. No, it's just a vet
Thanks! I am staying at LiveZen Hotel -right on this street - helpful to learn about the neighborhood. thanks.
That's great. I think I did a video on Live Zen. I thought Live Zen was on Soi 26? Maybe there's two? I'll send the link. ruclips.net/video/zRCUnsCVecM/видео.html. Oh it was Live Zen Asia.
