Author here! Just want to say that ending commentary was perfect, it was good to hear directly from a narrator! I wrote this as a monster of the month/campfire story a long time ago. You brought it to life like you always manage to do. I've always been curious myself about what that thing really is and what it really looks like underneath all that mud. I love reading peoples ideas and speculation over it. As always, excellent narration and awesome community!

I have been subscribed to several narrators over a huge chunk of my life all through high school all through the memories that I have, and this guy just seems to be an absolute breed apart the amount of effort sound and voice acting and how it seems like every story he adds somebody in as a alternate voice whether it be somebody who isn't the main character or maybe a female character, incredibly cool that we can experience this for free

I've heard plenty of camping horror stories, but this one is a first! As always, I raise a glass towards your work. Dark Somnium, your narration, sound effects, and music never cease to amaze me!
You should really listen to Campfire, it’s honestly my favorite story, I still listen to it every couple months. The sound effects, music and everything else immerses you into the story. Incredible 9/10
This story proves that even classic and well known concepts like “scary humanoid monster in the woods attacks campers” can still be extremely enjoyable and unique in its own right. The climax of this story was like watching a movie in my head. The imagery and pacing was masterful and their interpretation of like a, zombie or demon or whatever is absolutely terrifying. I’ve heard plenty of woods horror stories in my life, but this one actually made me consider never stepping outside again. I think it’s the idea of such a dangerous monster being able to make itself completely undetectable under the ground is the scariest part, and the creepy tormenting of its victims is just the cherry on top. Awesome use of fear of the unknown as well, the author reveled just enough of the monster to make it scary without spoiling the charm. Loved this, 10/10.
My favorite humanoid monster type creepypasta is fleshgait it was reuploaded on this channel a little bit recently give it a listen because very few stories nowadays actually have me as tense and uneasy such as that one
This youtuber is my favorite when it comes to horror stories. Doesnt always sound like he is whispering. And the multiple voice actors also improve the experience. Really awesome

I think the difference between yourself and other narrators is the immersion. Listening to others it's like they're reading stories whereas with your good self it's like you are *telling* the stories. There's something about your voice that suggests you've lived the tales you tell. Maybe it's the sincerity of your acting or the expertly executed sounds and music you employ but you are head and shoulders above your peers. Thank you. Your narration is so polished and so impressive. One of my favorite things to do when I find a new channel is to go back and watch older videos to get a sense of a creator's journey, and when I did that with your content, I was pleasantly surprised to find your quality has always been high. You've got such a knack for cadence and inflections that the story is what shines. I thought I didn't like horror, but it turns out I just don't like visual gore. I went camping with a friend (just a few feet into the woods) and was scared shitless by their dog who followed us out and kept running into the tent. We went back in because I chickened out, but that was my only experience camping.

I ended up working at a 12 hour shift today. for the first time in a while, I didn't make it back as planned to leave my review After the story was over so, my apologies there. I didn't know anybody actually cared to read them. So thanks. Without giving away any spoilers, I think it was a great story. One of the things I want to point out is how the author did not over Use descriptive narration trying to emphasize the state of the emotion, the atmosphere, or the action going on in the story. this can sometimes turn into almost anime like movies in my head with how the authors can get carried away over describing things. I think it was a well put together story. I found myself actually wanting the main characters to hook up and become a couple. I don't know why I just did. I love the female voice actress you use for your stories. She is so incredibly talented. You two are an excellent pair that bring your stories to life. So great job on another one in the and I look forward to whats coming next.
I will stop whatever i am doing to make sure i can hear the latest Dark Somnium narration. As always you and the team of voices and sounds you use to bring it alive are truly at the pinnacle. There are none out there that do it better. Side note, currently working my way through some excellent long tails loke The Left Right Game. You have such talent for this, all of yoir narrations are infinitely rewatchable.
Really like these more classical stories from time to time and mixing it with good atmospherical details worked very well. When I think of classic horror stories, a creepypasta that often comes to mind is "Fenter Woods", it's an older one but very nice. And when I think of atmospheric creepypastas, the one that always comes to mind is "There's Something Moving In The Storm Clouds". I feel like this creepypasta combines elements from both these styles in a nice way. Btw, I really like how you add your own thoughts at the end, it's a very fun way to engage with the audience, keep it up.

It reminded me of the Hecatoncheires, these giants from Greek mythology that had 50 heads and 100 arms. I got the idea that this was one of them buried deep and finally waking up to feed. I really loved the anticipation and creep factor in this one.

Its kind of strange to hear you just talk at the beginning because its like woah he actually just sounds like that lol you have a very soothing voice! its what gets me through these terrifying storys.
I enjoy the longs ones but the short ones are always a nice change of pace. Sometimes I just don’t have an hour of time to listen straight through so it’s nice to have options. Amazing as always!

Stories like these in my opinion are the best kind, the feeling of no escape either in the forest or some closed away realm give me the best spook feeling. It reminded me of the Hecatoncheires, these giants from Greek mythology that had 50 heads and 100 arms. I got the idea that this was one of them buried deep and finally waking up to feed. I really loved the anticipation and creep factor in this one.

Stories like these in my opinion are the best kind, the feeling of no escape either in the forest or some closed away realm give me the best spook feeling. I really like these types of stories and wish you’d do more like this, other than that I really enjoy your stories before bed you are definitely a very skilful reader and creator with how you mix sounds to match the tone of the story, really incredible stuff Dark Somnium, keep it up.
