No disrespect here, as I heard he passed away recently, but since I don't know the first thing about fashion, it's funny to me how the audience just eats it up and applaud and cheer. In my eyes, it's comical.

I never knew him, but I could understand his angst and frustration with much of the mundane surrounding him. His works were perhaps the personification of where and what he wished the world could be and found solace in the fact that he could use his form of expression as the tool for doing so. RIP

I actually just made a video using some of this footage for one of my songs. I was working on another track when I heard the news. Anyway, I hope you appreciate it. This is very sad.

Fashion, when created by talented people like McQueen, is an amazing art form using fabrics and stories instead of canvas, letters, musical instruments or photographic cameras. Art is about creating emotions on people through beauty, story telling, meaning and melody, and McQueen was great at it.
i want to take what she took, hahaha. and imagine the poor girl who buys that dress and gets attacked by those two airbrush guns while standing on the rotating plattform. greatness.
@Benrockn247 its because you dont think about it. in general,fahsion isnt just about pretty clothes. there are many designers who express themseves on clothes the same way painter does on canves. it can be political,social, artistic,psychological,illogical,you name it. every collection has a story behind it,its just that people like mcqueen have a strong and influential story,different perpective. they dont make clothes but statements. thats why its wrong to say fashion is shallow.
of course,there is also that point of view. we just injoy different things... but i would say that creative people have need to express themselves. even a painter does more that one painting trought his life. i find many flaws about fashion industry but its not the creative part or clothes.... only my opinion :)
