    What are some of your biggest challenges as a reseller?

    • @Lupi33z
      @Lupi33z 10 месяцев назад +3

      sourcing is by far the biggest challenge of reselling and central to the viability of the business. ie not just finding the product, but finding it at a price that a profit can be made from it. Everything else can be figured out with a few months of experience. 99% of youtube reselling videos make sourcing look easy and are only useful for helping with everything that is downstream from that. But that is to be expected, as it is a competitive space and nobody should feel entitled to having that information spoon fed to them.

      @@Lupi33zyea o can definitely understand that, i think your right in terms of it being tough to show all of those options Wales if the are options that you have had to work for to get (not just a walk in buy what you want situation)

    Oh we have been missing these motivational videos 😊...we don't do a lot of garage sales, actually none so have been skipping through your last few videos 😂. However our current supply of stock is getting more participants hence we're paying more so now we're having to look elsewhere. That elsewhere is garage sales 😮😂. So we'll be reviewing your past few recent videos 😊. We're a couple of retired oldies doing eBay as a full-time job and have surpassed our goals for the past month. However in the past month also we've encountered competition, so we're back to the hardest part of eBay, sourcing. We dislike op shopping, we'd rather go to auctions but here in WA there is one for what we buy. Anyhow that's enough, we love your content thank you 😊.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  10 месяцев назад

      Appreciate you coming along, we’ve been loving the garage sale videos but understand they aren’t for everyone… hopefully plenty more of these coming up with a mix of some more garage sales.
      Competition is definitely one that I didn’t cover off in this one but is a very important part of the journey being able to pivot and adjust like it sounds like you guys are is a key skill to have as a reseller.

    Cracker of a video!! 🎉 There is so much more to consider if you want to be a full-time reseller as opposed to using it as a side hustle!! For those of us who do have the drive (and probably ADHD 😂) and love what we do there’s no better job out there! 🤩 BTW Jaz I just LOVE the denim jacket! You couldn't run a business sourcing from thrift stores in Adelaide in 2023. There's practically nothing of resale value in them anymore, if you're doing the mainstream categories like clothing and books. Maybe Savers when there's a 50% off sale you might find something if you can beat the rush, but there's nothing in all the others.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  10 месяцев назад +1

Or just purchase Liabilities and depreciating Items that were potentially over priced I. The first place ... I'd rather buy A $100,000 in great food than an I8

    For me I'd love to do it full time, but right now with my normal job which is shift work and I work 6-7 days a week I find it hard to find the time, its a catch 22, I spend my days off my normal job still working on the reselling side, sourcing and listing ect, but in saying that I enjoy it.
    I started of turning $1 into $5 then I started sourcing items that would sell for $10 with a $1 cost, not though I only look for $13 or higher, its gradually growing and I'm continually learning.
    anyway a bonus for me and what I do is I don't need streaming services when I've got all this media (DVDs,BluRays,VHS, CDs & Books) on hand.
    I'd even love to start filming for youtube to help in away of promotion but its time constraints.
    Love the vids and the success you guys have.

    The average full time job in Australia pays $70,000 per annum with 4 weeks paid leave and sick leave and superannuation and no working weekends.
    Reselling full time will never give you that sort of money with the benefits, because as you mentioned there is so much work involved.
    So why do it?
    Well if your on minimum wage in retail for instance then yes you may be able to make more money, depending on economic conditions which right now aren’t favourable for selling.
    The number one reason is freedom. You are in control of what you do, no one tells you what to do, no office politics, you choose your hours.
    Freedom and fun VS money and stability.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  10 месяцев назад

      Oh for sure, the freedom is definitely a trade off for the pay cut although I could see 70k as achievable as a reseller in pocket.

      fulltime employment isn't an entitlement for everybody either...particularly if you're older (wrong side of 50), options shrink to close to zero - so for some, reselling is one of the few options available to generate an income stream
